De landsbyer, vi besøger, er ikke berømte. Det er netop derfor, vi valgte dem. Forlad Can Tho og følg rolige veje gennem kanaler, frugtplantager og lokalsamfund, hvor internationale besøgende stadig er usædvanligt sjældne. Denne oprindelige rejse voksede ud af tid brugt på at udforske deltaet fra første hånd - efter veje, der afslører en langsommere, mere personlig side af Mekong. Hvor Mekong vokser stille Ride under tropiske træer og ved siden af smalle kanaler, gennem frugtplantager, åbne rismarker og landsbyer få rejsende nogensinde støder på. Intet her er arrangeret for besøgende. Haver er plejede, både passerer mellem vandlandshuse, og hverdagen udfolder sig i sit eget blide tempo. Pause til frugt i sæsonen og noget forfriskende at drikke. Undervejs forvandler historier fra din vært landskabet fra noget, du simpelthen ser til et sted, du begynder at forstå. Harvest ændrer sig. De mennesker, du møder, kan ændre sig. Ingen to rejser udfolder sig helt ens. En roligere vej ind i Mekongs liv.

My tour guide is Mai, who will carefully explain and take care of the companions during the trip, and also help us to take videos and photographs to commemorate, May carefully with us to interact with local residents, experience the rural life of Vietnam.
This tour was the highlight of our visit to Can Tho and was made even more special with our guide, Mai, a beautiful person who is very knowledgable of life along the Mekong and she had special relationships with all the locals we visited. The bike tour is mostly on flat paved paths through local rural communities where you get to experience what life along the Mekong Delta is like. A highlight was the stop at a local’s house for a refreshing and welcome sugar cane drink. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and loved having photos with us. The tour also includes a visit to the local market, where we purchased fruit to enjoy during the tour. I recommend this tour if you want to get a real insight into life on the Mekong Delta that is off the beaten track. We loved meeting and having photos with the locals, learning about local traditions in the rural communities of the Mekong and seeing how they live their lives. I imagine each tour is unique as you are riding around whilst the locals go about their everyday activities. Not only do I recommend this tour, I recommend other tours by Mekong Realism, we also did the floating market tour the previous day. Also if possible request Mai as your guide - you will not be disappointed
We have been on several biking tours (mostly EBike) in other countries and this one was the most chill and relaxing although we did cover about 15 km of mostly flat pavement throughout the neighborhood and were greeted by cheerful children along the way. We’ve been in Vietnam for more than 6 week’s traveling North to South and Can Tho has very nice and hospitable people. We lucked out with a private tour and Mai is so sweet, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. After our initial trek we stopped at a very friendly friend’s house and enjoyed a refreshing sugar cane drink. While admiring the extremely large jack fruit along the bike path we then went to the market and were able to purchase some fried bananas and fresh bananas picked that morning. We also learned about the “paper outfits” they sell at the market (I’ll let you find out more when you take the tour), stopped by a small farm with baby pigs (so cute!) and boisterous roosters and 2 cute girls that we stopped to talk to. We then rode to the rice field area next to the Lotus flower garden and learned about the 3x rice and plantings per year. Something that separates the Mekong Delta area from the northern part of Vietnam. All in all it was a great way to get some exercise and get to better know the neighborhood in Can Tho.
We loved doing both the cycling trip and the Son Islet tour with Mai. She was fun, helpful and knowledgeable. The cycling tour was so much fun - the locals were so friendly and all wanted to say hello to us. Son Islet was so peaceful and beautiful. Thanks for two great days out.
We had a really nice bike tour through local villages, rice fields, and fruit plantations. Our guide Mai made it special for us; the extra information, but especially her connection with the locals, made this trip an afternoon to never forget. Book this trip and ask for Mai!

It was a great bike ride with Ruby. She speaks good English, explains well and gives any information. She also took great photos and videos. I myself would never have seen such places. I recommend Ruby 100%!
Had the most wonderful morning cycling through the countryside outside of Can Tho. It was fascinating to see how the local people live and work compared to the city. We visited a local market and ate delicious fruit and also had a couple of refreshing drink breaks. Our guide Ruby spoke excellent English and we learnt alot from her. She was a joy to be with, enthusiastic and such good fun. All in all an excellent tour, thank you Ruby.
