Fantastisk stemning og energi, der forvandler livene i Cambodja-ungdommen, Phare Circus er mere end underholdning. Det er en social virksomhed, der støtter en non-profit skole, hvor cambodjanske unge transformerer deres liv.

Siem Reaps mest unikke, autentiske top-vurderede aftenunderholdning. Phare-kunstnere bruger mere end bare et cirkus teater, musik, dans og moderne cirkuskunst for at fortælle unikke cambodjanske historier; historisk, folkeligt og moderne. De unge cirkusartister vil forbløffe dig med deres energi, følelser, entusiasme og talent. Phare-kunstnere er studerende og kandidater fra Phare Ponleu Selpaks (www.phareps.org) erhvervsuddannelsescenter i Battambang. Foreningen blev dannet i 1994 af 9 unge mænd, der kom hjem fra en flygtningelejr efter Khmer Rouge-regimet. De blev meget hjulpet i løbet af den tid af en kunstlærer, der brugte tegnetimer som terapi og ville dele denne nye færdighed blandt de fattige, socialt berøvede og urolige unge i Battambang. De grundlagde en kunstskole, og offentlige skoler fulgte for at tilbyde gratis uddannelse. En musikskole og teaterskole var næste og endelig, for de børn, der ville have mere, cirkuskolen. I dag går over 1.200 elever dagligt på den offentlige skole og 500 går på de alternative skoler. Phare Ponleu Selpak har også omfattende opsøgende programmer, der prøver at hjælpe med de problemer, der fremhæves i deres egne historier. Phare Det cambodjanske cirkus tilbyder disse studerende og kandidater et sted at finpudse deres færdigheder og et sted at tjene en anstændig løn. Penge, der vil tage dem ud af fattigdom og give dem selvrespekt og frihed.

A wonderful show A fantastic human adventure We had a great evening Extraordinary acrobats
Don't waste your money. For $38.00 instead take your family home for a nice dinner for 4 people. The show is not a real circus. Horrible acrobats. Most of the short one hour show you see them crowning around. There is only one acrobat doing all the acts. So lame. This is for people who never seen real acrobats from China and Russia. Not entertaining at sll. Left disappointed. Don't go .waste of money.

Such a wonderfully engaging evening. I’m not even a big fan of the circus but I couldn’t recommend this enough! Such a great cause too. The food onsite was delicious.

This was the fastest hour of my life. The circus show was so entertaining that the time flew by. The entire thing was so well done including the welcome from the performers with drums, jugglers and cheering. The food available pre-show, and the entertainment before the show is top notch and the food is inexpensive. Every seat in the big top is a good one and the quality of the show is fantastic. The best part is that seeing the show supports the mission of this program which is to give skills to underprivileged youth in order for them to have a better quality of life. It is win-win and feel good all the way around.

Astounding! Heading in we just assumed that it was just another circus performance. But tonight’s performance blew our mind, from start to finish it was so captivating left us on edge most of the show, it was just incredibly breathtaking. It educated us on how much rice is part of the Cambodian culture, & how Cambodian people eat live & breathe rice & community. We’re truly thankful that we got to experience the show. It’s great to see that although born into difficult circumstances the circus provides access to people to learn about different art forms free of cost! A great initiative!
