Though the tour occurred during a busy festival and many venues were closed. Wilson was wonderful at introducing us to the culture and history of the region using his local connections. He was knowledgeable, informed, and a wonderful conversationalist. My partner and I had a lovely time.
Excellent, informative, and fun excursion. Well worth the time and money. Guide Monia was warm and wonderful. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
This is a full day tour which takes you to the rural areas that were the former sugar cane plantations outside of Salvador. Ronaldo was our guide and gave a full explanation of the relevance of the area. Particularly interesting was the visit to the local market where we tasted different fruits and vegetables. We happened upon an impromptu capoeira ( African martial arts) in the market which was exciting. The colonial villages are unique and highly colorful in different hues. We went to a small African centered catholic church and museum which reflected the practices of Black female worshipers. We also visited one of the oldest cigar factories, and concluded our visit with a terrific lunch overlooking one of the most scenic river valley. I would highly recommend this tour to explore and understand the rich Black cultural history of Bahia. Be sure to ask for Ronaldo!
Incredible and touching experience, passing through historic places and impressive landscapes! Guide Wilson is a charming professional, who provides us with a lot of information, in a light and interesting way. And the driver Fabio was wonderful too, as well as a serious and careful professional. Lunch at the farm is a unique experience, with wonderful food, attentive service and an unparalleled view! Each attraction is worth it and is an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this tour!
This was by far the best tour guide we have had in our travels. Wilson is extremely knowledgeable, patient, understanding and kind. He is high-spirited and certainly brightened up our day. We learned so much! Our driver, Fabio was the perfect compliment! Lunch at Santa Cruz was amazing. Delicious food made with all natural ingredients, a beautiful view and fantastic service. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is up to have a lovely day and learn interesting historical facts. Not to mention it is very difficult to get a tour in any other language that is not Portuguese, and Wilson speaks English and Spanish perfectly. Thank you guys for an awesome day in Salvador!
Excellent driver and guide, Fabio and Wilson Badaró, respectively. Experienced professionals demonstrate great command of the socio-cultural context of Recôncavo Baiano.
Great. Great guide. Knowledgeable about the region and Bahian culture. Professional driver and comfortable car. Tasty lunch with welcoming people.
This was an exceptional and beautiful tour. Mr. Wilson personally led us through not only Brazil's challenging and wonderful history, but punctuated the event with personal memories and enriching information that breathed life into a complicated time in the country's past.
It was great to out to see the countryside and historic towns of Cachoeira and Santo Amaro. Our guide Misael was very knowledgeable on many topics so we had good conversations. Our driver was excellent too! Lunch at the fazenda, a walk through a market, and the cigar factory visit were highlights.
We had a fantastic day with our guide and driver. It gave us a great feel for the rural area of Bahia, as well as the historical culture of the area
