Da César Manrique i slutningen af 1960'erne vendte tilbage til Lanzarote og sammen med Jesús Soto påbegyndte byggeriet og opstarten af kunst- og turismecentret på Lanzarote, var de måske ikke klar over den internationale og kunstneriske trend, som de var på vej til. at generere. César, en multidisciplinær kunstner, maler, billedhugger, konservator af monumenter og turiststeder, designer af landskaber og haver og anerkendt økolog, skabte ud fra naturlige vulkanulykker en tendens, der påvirkede verden. Han formåede at forene kunst, urbanisme og turisme i et enkelt koncept, under en filosofi og model for byintervention baseret på bæredygtighed og respekt for territoriets naturlige værdier, til det, der nu er en verdensreference. Vores ø ville helt sikkert være mindre attraktiv og med meget mindre personlighed uden hans kunst. Ikke at besøge disse centre og kunstværker, at være i stand til at fortolke dem, er som ikke engang at have rejst hertil. Gå ikke glip af denne uforglemmelige tur!

Monumento al Campesino er et værk af César Manrique og en hyldest til arbejdet på Lanzarote-samfundets felter.

Beliggende i Guatiza, Teguise kommune, er El Jardín de Cactus det sidste store værk af César Manrique på Lanzarote, en fascinerende skabelse, der huser omkring 4.500 eksemplarer af kaktusser af omkring 500 arter fra fem kontinenter.
Mirador del Río (480 m), et spektakulært udsigtspunkt hugget ind i kanten af klippen og genskabt af Manrique, som var en gammel artilleripost "Batería del Río". Herfra kan vi se Chinijo-øerne.

Well paced day out. Loved the caves and Cesar Manrique cactus garden and house. Pablo, aka Paul, was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I think it should be made clearer to people who book that lunch is 15 euro, and pretty much non- negotiable, unless you want to take your own food, or go without, as it's in the middle of a small village with no other options. Having said that, it was a buffet, so lots of choice, tasty food and included wine and water. We weren't lucky with the weather, but it didn't spoil the day.
Apart from the lengthy run around for pick ups and drop offs the tour was very enjoyable. Staff were great.
Great day exploring the greatest artist of Lanzarote. Recommend to everyone who like art and architecture. The staff and the bus was professional.
This tour was badly organised, and the guide gave ua very little information and made no effort to animate the group. The 15 Euro lunch at El Cortilo was just plain awful and a serious ripoff for the money. Avoid this tour!
i went solo and it was lovely! bring cash to tip your guide and driver :) I thought there was time to explore every site and saw amazing sights
What a fantastic trip. Fascinating view points in the mountains overlooking La graciosa, then into the cesar manrique caves. Wow what a place. Finished off with an aloe museum tour.. Equally as good. Was only a few hours which was great. Would recommend
Fabulous tour of the North of the Island. Lots put in to one day - absolutely worth it. There are a LOT of steps involved, and I have mobility difficulties, but did manage it, even though I paid for it later. But people worse than myself had other options. Talk to the organisers, they were great.
A fascinating day trip seeing some lovely old towns and sights, a standout was the visit to the green caves, really amazing. The tour guide was wonderful and very informative, she really made the day very special
