Bukarest: Middag på Kommunismens museum & rundvisning efter lukning

Main meal was served cold as guide spent so long talking we also didn’t eat to very late at night. Information was interesting Event was nice but standing in the staircase at the beginning put me off the event

Total immersion in Communist Romania, including dinner provided. The museum is very tiny but the guide gave complete and thorough explanations of all of it. I happened to be the only one on this particular evening which was kind of strange, but it was a private tour and dinner with the guide.

We had a fabulous evening. Our guide was really knowledgeable and interesting and the food was really good. Highly recommend this experience to learn more about Romania and for a different experience.

This tour was fantastic! Our guide, Gabriela, did an excellent job summarizing the roughly 42 years of communism in Romania. She presented the key events clearly and accurately, making the history both engaging and easy to follow. The food was delicious and plentiful: a lot of starters, 'sarmale' as the main course, and dessert to finish. Drinks were included as well.

Interesting. They want me to write a long description of the tour. This is why I don't like doing surveys.

A thoroughly great experience, unique in style and beautifully presented. The guide was a superb person and very knowledgeable of the communist times, despite her age. She shared some personal experiences from her family. The 1 hour tour was just about enough as the museum is small. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner afterwards. I would highly recommend this for families.

Ali, our docent was extraordinary!! The museum tour so educational, interactive and the dinner delicious. Served in the communist era living room with glassware, China etc of the period. Immersive and grateful for the team who educated us with truth!

The museum is small and compact with good descriptions of various aspects of the communist regime. Although we didn’t have time to read all of the museum commentary, our guide did a great job explaining Romanian history and the historical significance of both Soviet and modern times. The dinner was set up in what would have been a Soviet family kitchen. It was served family style and offered delicious traditional Romanian cuisine.

The guide was great. Very knowledgeable. Made the tour interactive and was very personable. Enjoyed the dinner.

If you have a free evening while in Bucharest please spend it here, having dinner at the Museum of Communism. First you will have a private tour of the museum (extremely interesting, and goes into much greater detail than the general city tours do). Then you will have the chance to speak with the guide and other participants informally during a dinner of traditional Romanian foods. I read other reviews that said the food was not enough but I found the quantity to be more than sufficient. The museum is located on a lively street, and after the dinner you can stroll through the area and enjoy the nightlife.
