informative and fun trip to unique bars and a taste of Hungarian street food. knolagable guide and diverse drinks
The guys from White Umbrella Tours are wonderful; we did the ruin bar tour with Daniela and everything was wonderful.
Bianca, our tour guide, was amazing. She was personable, tailored the tour to our pace, and was very knowledgeable! I highly recommend this tour as our family loved it!
Great time, good drinks and recommendations as well, I went back to the bars multiple times after the tours.
An opportunity to visit venues you may never have known existed which are used by the locals. There were only 2 on our tour but our guide was open about life in Budapest and he ensured we enjoyed the visit
This tour was very interesting. The ruin bars were so cool to see. The guide shared some stories about each location. Would have liked for her to have introduced us to some local favorite drinks. She gave us one shot of the fruit liqueur but then offered us a beer or wine. Could have had those anywhere.
The ruin bars were very eclectic and fun. Bianca was a great guide, providing background on the ruin bars as well as some general knowledge about District 7 and Budapest as a whole. We visited 3 ruin bars with a stop for some langos (yum!) Overall, it was a great tour with a great guide! Highly recommend.
This unique tour was an absolute joy! Our guide, Bianka, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Starting at the beautiful synagogue, we learned the history of the area and the Ruin bars in particular, enjoying a variety of drinks on the way: beer, wine and palinka. Also included was a languish to soak up the alcohol! The walk was not a long one and there was plenty of time to relax on the various bars. We enjoyed the Simpla Kert bar so much, we returned for an extra-curricular drink afterwards!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Budapest! If you’re thinking about experiencing the city’s famous ruin bars, don’t hesitate—book this tour. Our guide, Bianka, was absolutely fantastic. She was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Budapest. She shared fascinating stories about the history of the ruin bars, the neighborhoods they transformed, and the unique culture that makes them unlike anything else in Europe. Her storytelling added so much depth to places we otherwise would have simply walked through. What I appreciated most was her style as a guide. She never rushed us, encouraged questions, and answered every one with enthusiasm and insight. It felt more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local friend than being led through a scripted tour. She was incredibly accommodating and made everyone feel welcome. The three ruin bars we visited each had their own distinct personality, and I never would have discovered or fully appreciated them on my own. Beyond the drinks, the tour offered a fascinating glimpse into Budapest’s history, creativity, and nightlife. We also enjoyed sampling local street food, which was the perfect complement to the evening. Whether it’s your first time in Budapest or a return visit, this tour is an absolute must. You’ll leave with a much deeper appreciation for the city’s culture, incredible recommendations for the rest of your stay, and memories that last long after the night is over. Thank you, Bianka, for such an unforgettable evening!
A wonderful overview of the area and understanding of what the ruin bars are. We got tours of three bars and a drink at each one.
