Rejseplan

Obi you made the time so informative and fun for everyone. An outstanding tour for locals and tourists. Highly recommended to everyone.
It was fantastic! Our guide Courtney led the tour with so much wit and love - we were thrilled. We will definitely book the tour again when we are back in London. The food was super delicious and there was a lot of it. One of the best tours I have ever done in my life!
This was the highlight of our trip to London! I highly recommend this experience for a little history with amazing food! Obi was an exemplary guide!
This was the best part of our trip—we learned about the history of black London and how the history of Brixton resembles Harlem’s. Our tour guide, Obi, was an amazing, engaging, charismatic host with a great sense of humor. You could tell he loves his city and shared so much of his knowledge and personal experiences with us. Go on an empty stomach because there is LOTS of delicious food to eat—including the best beef patty I’ve had in my life (and I’ve had quite a few!).
Second time taking this tour! Since the Brixton area is every changing we were able to get new insight on its current state and the need to keep telling the oral history. This is one of our "must do" experiences when bringing someone to London for the first time. Obi is a wonderful tour guide and gives you insight on Brixton and the London experience from the African and Caribbean perspective. Add it to your list when in London.
This was an amazing experience. Courtney was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, passionate and caring. The tour ran smoothly and each stop had some of the most delicious Caribbean and African in Brixton. Each of us on the tour felt taken care of and we even created a bond within the group. 10/10
I was looking forward to exploring a new-to-me neighborhood in London and trying different foods, and I got much much more! Not only did I try some incredible, flavorful food, but I also met great people, and learned a great deal of Black London history that I did not know before. Obi is a truly exceptional tour leader. He makes the effort to engage participants while taking us to Black owned businesses in Brixton, which is quickly becoming gentrified. It was great learning about which businesses are still locally owned and trying their foods. The flavors were phenomenal! When I head back home to The Bay Area, I need to find authentic places that make Jamaican patties and Nigerian Jollof rice! Those two foods were my favorite. The tour ends with a family style meal while sharing stories. Thank you to Obi for a wonderful afternoon in Brixton!
What a phenomenal experience and history lesson on the people and area of Brixton. Obi our tour guide was such a humble, energetic wealth of knowledge- he made sure to know everyone’s name and gave us each a thank you card. I highly recommend this tour, it was one of our best and delicious experiences in London!!
I came to London as a first-time visitor from Atlanta, Georgia, and I can say without hesitation that the African & Caribbean Food Tour with Obi and Gorgeous Tours was the single most meaningful experience of my entire trip. Let me be specific, because this tour deserves more than "great guide, great food." The History is Real. Obi doesn't read from a script. He lives this history. Walking through the streets of Brixton, standing in front of murals that speak to resistance and resilience, hearing the stories told by someone whose family was shaped by those same streets, this is not a tourist production; it is truth-telling at its finest. The graffiti, the art, the architecture, Obi made every wall a classroom and every corner a conversation. The Food is Serious. Come hungry. I cannot stress this enough. We moved through Brixton Village and the market, tasting African and Caribbean dishes that were fresh, layered with flavor, and introduced by Obi with the full context of where they come from and why they matter. Jerk, jollof, patties, plantains, each stop was a revelation. By the time we sat down for our full meal (yes, there is a full sit-down meal, under a Jamaican flag, surrounded by community), I had laughed, eaten, and learned more than I expected in three hours. The Community is the Point. What makes this tour extraordinary is that Obi actively uplifts the Black-owned businesses, vendors, and entrepreneurs in his community. Every stop was intentional; he introduced us to the people behind the food, the artists behind the murals, the shop owners holding cultural ground in a rapidly changing neighborhood. As someone who works in equity and organizational development, I recognized immediately what Obi is building: a sustainable ecosystem of visibility and economic dignity for his people. Booking this tour is an act of direct investment in that ecosystem. The Man Himself. Obi is funny, brilliant, passionate, and genuinely caring. He made every single person in our group feel seen and welcomed. By the end of three hours, we felt like family, taking selfies, exchanging laughs, not wanting it to end. If you are visiting London and you care about culture, food, history, and experiencing a city through the eyes of people who actually built it, stop reading this review and go book Gorgeous Tours right now. This is the real London. And Obi is the real thing. Krischanna, Atlanta, Georgia 🇺🇸 First-time London visitor | May 2026
For my first trip to London, it was important for me to immerse myself into the community that mirrors my own, not just to visit, but to connect with it. I found Obi on my Instagram feed and knew immediately that I would participate in his Brixton Market Tour. I was excited about the opportunity to learn about my African & Caribbean family overseas and left with both my appetite satisfied and my spirit filled. Obi is an amazing historian and story teller, not just reciting facts but telling life experiences, sharing living stories that are still being written. His care for his history, the history of Brixton and the citizens who have made it the community it is are made clear as he combines highlighting amazing cuisine with the amazing people behind it. Obi also has the ability to take the 12 strangers in his group and turn them into a family within hours, which is where his magic really shines. I highly recommend everyone who visits London to make sure that his tours are part of your itinerary. I'm definitely going to do his other tours when I return to the UK.
