Beautiful scenery. Great tour with good history on the castle (the cave was our favorite part). You’ll be in the car more than you’ll be at the castle or village, but as long as you’re ready for that, the car time is also beautiful. Our tour guide did not know what she was doing and tried to blame it on us. When we were still in the parking lot, she almost backed into another car. She had asked my son if there was anyone behind her and he told her there was a big truck there. Then when the truck got mad, she came back into the car and complained that my son didn’t warn her about the truck. It’s bad enough that she was a bad driver but don’t lie about it and blame my son. And she was a bad driver. She got lost like seven times and always blamed someone else. Parts fell off her car (the rear view window) and we had to help fix it to get home. She veered into oncoming traffic a few times. She did not know how to defog her windows and let it get so bad she could not see while driving on the highway. I had to show her how to do it so we did not die. I did not feel safe. I would not recommend this tour to anyone for that reason.
Dear Sir, We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and would like to sincerely apologize for how the tour went. What you described is not acceptable, and we completely understand how disappointing and even unsafe it must have felt. The guide in question only worked with us occasionally, and based on your feedback, we’ve decided she will no longer represent our company. Your safety, comfort, and trust are our top priorities, and we deeply regret that this situation did not reflect that. We appreciate you taking the time to share this — your feedback helps us improve and ensures that something like this will not happen again. If you would like to share more details privately, we’d be open to hearing from you directly.
As it turned out, what I thought was going to be a group tour turned out to only being my wife and myself. Very impressed with the content of the tour, the information provided during the tour and simply the overall efficiency of our tour guide. The Christmas’ snow in the village was a nice bonus
thank you very much for the lovely review :) :) Hope to see you again in Slovakia.
We do not recommend this tour. Our tour guide informed us he was sick only after we started our tour and we then had to spend a 10 hour day with the guide while he coughed and sneezed. Our health was disregarded by the tour company. The tour of the castle itself was also very poor. The tour the castle offers is only in Slovak meaning the tour guide has to translate the tour. However, while our tour guide was translating what he remembered about each room, the castle guide started talking about the next room meaning our tour guide missed most of what was said about each room. Our guide read from the pamphlet that we were given and did not offer any extra details. The castle tour is completely uninformative and gives very little detail and history. The castle is not worth a 2.5 hour drive and expensive tour. Additionally, our tour guide was an aggressive driver as me made very risky passes that nearly caused head on collisions and gave the middle finger to another driver. The tour company was also less than helpful when we reached out about our complaints. We expressed our frustration about being picked up by a sick tour guide, the lack of information given on the tour, and the unsafe driving by our guide. The company took over a week to respond to our email (and only responded after we sent a follow up email) and essentially told us that we were wrong and the tour was executed as planned. The company showed no compassion for sending us a sick guide that provided little information about the castle. We were told that details were not given in the castle because we do not know anything about Slovak history and there is no way we could have comprehended the information. We do not recommend this tour or any tour offered by Tripito based on our experience on the tour and our experience with the tour company manager. You will not receive what you pay for and the company will not help you.
Dear customer, You have sent us an email where you have informed us that the guide was informative and kind. But he was s little bit sick. Guide told us that you have not complained at all during the tour. You even tipped him well. It suggests us that you were happy with his services. We even have provided you with a free hotel pick up. If everything was so bad about him why did you tipped him? Why did you write to us that he was informative and kind? You could call us during the tour that you do not want this guide because he is sick. Unfortunately guide did not informed us about his condition because he said that he had just a runny nose. He went for tests after your complaint and they found out that it is an allergy. Our manager said that you cannot comprehend , not in order to insult you, it is really difficult to understand all the information which is totally normal. The tour you joined was designed for Slovaks not international tourists. You cannot understand all the details of Slovak history because there are some details which could be understood more by Slovaks because they learn about it at school all their life and it is culture related. That is why guides give information which are more known and they do not translate every little detail. I am really sorry that you have a bad experience with us but the guide is experienced. He has guided a lot of these tours and we have never received any complaints about him. You demanded 50 % refund, but we found your request of 50% refund unreasonable because we really delivered all the services as always. No one wanted to be rude, so we are sorry that you have such a feeling.
It was a great experience to have this day excursion with Betty as a guide, the castle is amazing like in a fairytale! I recommend it !
thank you very much :)
Betty (her nickname) was our guide for the day on what ended up as a private tour. Betty was really sweet and knowledgeable. Upon arrival at Bojnice Castle, Betty had a brief discussion with the ticketing office for the castle, finding they had changed their access from a full castle to two options. This was fine with us because my wife and I were both tired from our activities leading up to this tour. The castle doesn't have many original furnishings but has donated pieces from the right periods. The castle and grounds were gorgeous. Cicmany is a small town with a museum and probably about 1-2 dozen decorated buildings. The village is a short stop on the itinerary and there is plenty of time to see what is available there.
Thank you so much for a review and traveling with us. We hope to see you again ☺️
Long ride there but worth the trip,, this is the most like what you expect a castle to be. Renovated and updated through the years and an amazing experience. Our guide was excellent.
It was not a good experience. From the beginning, the guide showed that she does not know how to drive -she almost hit the car in front- and did not know how to get to the places -she stopped constantly to ask for directions, one of those times was at an intersection on the highway. Her knowledge of history was very good. The town of Cicmany leaves much to be desired, and the museum is not at all pleasant, it is really creapy. We ended up very upset with the company for not caring about our safety and not hiring a driver who knows how to drive. It is not the guide's fault and we do not want to affect her in any way. Not recomended!
We are very sorry for you bad experience. We dont work with this guide anymore.

On 24-Jun-2017 we took the Viator Bratislava Castle Tour Where did Marcus Aurelius write his book Theme Bonjnice Castle with Betty as our tour guide through the local Slovakia tour company of Triptito s.r.o.

Betty who was very helpful and knowledgeable. A few weeks before the tour, Betty contacted us to let us know that a special event was taking place at the Bonjnice Castle that day and that all the areas would not be fully accessible. Instead, she suggested visiting the Cerveny kamen Red Stone Castle instead and also adding Devin Castle with a boat ride back to Bratislava. Red Stone Castle and Devin Castle were fantastic we were very glad Betty gave us this suggestion. At Red Stone Castle, there was an added attraction of seeing falcons and owls, which was unexpected. This was one of the best tour that we have every taken.

Betty was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable of not only the 2 castles we visited, but also of Slovakia and Bratislava the cultures and traditions. If you take this tour, you must ask for Betty as your tour guide it will make your tour doubly enjoyable.

Wonderful tour. There was only the 2 of us in a car with a wonderful guide. The castle was brilliant and then we went to a traditional village which was great to see. Used Viator many times and will certainly be using them again
