Se op til 200 blå pingviner, der vender tilbage fra havet om aftenen! (Generelt ses flere pingviner i løbet af foråret/sommeren end vores efterårs- eller vintermåneder, men vi garanterer at se pingviner hver nat!! I de ikke-ynglende måneder marts til august ser vi ofte 20-50 fugle hver nat, dog på sjældne tilfælde kan vi se færre end 10 fugle). Ekstremt tæt visning af disse fugle. Lær om Māori-historien på dette betydningsfulde sted. Turen inkluderer et særligt "bag kulisserne" kig på reservatet og pingvinens habitat. Vi er de eneste blå pingvin-aftenture, der tillader fotografering (men ingen blitzfotografering) Stemte blandt de 10 bedste oplevelser i New Zealand (TripAdvisor 2022). Such a great experience! The penguins were so cute and we got to see a huge group of them coming into their nests. 10/10 thing to do.
This experience was magical! We can feel the passion that the guides had for the penguins and the whenua around. We really enjoyed learning about Maori history at the start of the tour and the guides made the experience feel immersive and personal. We ended up seeing 64 penguins the night we went and it was so cute and powerful. Thank you so much!
Absolutely amazing experience and really friendly and knowledgeable staff! Note: It gets really cold if you’re doing it in July so wrap up warm!
Really knowledgeable tour guides, and the talk beforehand was engaging and pitched at a good level. Prior to going on this tour I had read a review about people not being able to get to the front of the railing to see. On our tour there was space for everyone around the railing, and the tour guide ask the group to swap sides so everyone sees from both sides (one side had more penguin action than the other but that might vary every night). If you like penguins, this is a must!
This was such a magical experience for our family. The staff was very knowledgeable and guided us through the experience. We learned so much about the blue penguins and it was so special to be able to see them come in from the sea and head to their little nests.
I went with boys 12 and 5 year old and we enjoyed every minute of it. Breathtaking picturesque drive from Dunedin. Informative, energetic&fun brief by the guides. Long wait - we were told penguins were testing our patience that evening - but this pause was good at the end, gave us time to tune in the nature around, spot a sea lion, train our eyes in the bay. And the moment when little crowd start emerging from the waters - unforgettable! Strongly recommend!
The Blue Penguins Pukekura Experience is the Ultimate night out. After being greeted at the door - we were informed of the plan for the evening and when the Experience would begin. We took our seats and our Guide introduced us to the team and then gave a very informative talk about the Penguins and the trust that runs the sanctuary. The time finally arrived for us to make our way down to the viewing platform. We got to see a female seal that had been in sanctuary make her way back to the see. Our Guide told us what sounds to listen out for and what the Penguins do when they come to shore. Hearing and seeing the Penguins was magical - bonus was that we were able to take photos and videos of our experience. Also there is a selection of Hot Drinks and Penguins to purchase while at the viewing deck. Highly recommend this amazing experience.

Such an amazing time! The staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. They are doing great things! Learned a lot and got to see really cute little blue penguins. Saw over 40 which was great for winter time! A truly special memory from our vacation. Would highly recommend!
Such incredible helpful staff and such an amazing experience. The drive out is beautiful and makes the trip really amazing from start to finish. Well priced and doesn’t take too long! Would absolutely recommend not only to families and tourists but anyone looking for something great to do especially in winter when it start at 4.45!
