Constanta blev grundlagt af grækerne som en havn ved Sortehavskysten til handel med indlandsfolk og kaldes Tomis (VI århundrede f.Kr.). Byen blev senere omdøbt efter Constantina, niese af Konstantin den Store (274-337). Det var stadig en blomstrende havneby i det 10. og 11. århundrede, der handlede med det byzantinske imperium og byen Genoa.

Alex was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and liked to talk. He took us to all of the great places in the city and the area. We had a very nice lunch near to seashore. Traffic into Bucharest was a bit heavy. i would highly recommend this tour.
This trip was the absolute highlight of my tourist adventures in Bucharest. The driver (Octavian) was fantastic & I learned so much about the area’s history and its present. It was a day very well spent with a guide who’s at the top of the list of many trip leaders I have experienced traveling over the years. I highly recommend this tour, for anyone seeking a day’s cultural, historical and scenic experience. You cannot go wrong.

Radu was an excellent host! He is well informed about Constanta’s history and culture! I am a history geek! So, I was intrigued by Radu’s historical knowledge of Constanta! The Black Sea view was so blissful to my eyes! I highly recommend this trip!
