Great Castle
Great castle trip. I visited with my family and we really enjoyed looking around. There were lots of steps to climb so keep this in mind but the view from the top of the castle was worth it and you also saw Pena Palace from afar. Highly recommended. The cafeteria wasn’t open which was strange for a Wednesday late morning visit so make sure you take plenty of water.

A must see

Hilltop medieval fortress
The fortress offers some of the best vantage points in Sintra, directly overlooking the Historic Center below and Pena Palace on the neighboring peak. Plan to visit it the same day as Peña Palace. There is a path through the forest which takes you from Peña Palace to Moorish castle.
