City has a wealth of history, great restaurants, and great shops. Also near sp other historic medieval towns and a short drive fo the Coast of Brava.
Dani was an excellent guide for this full day experience. Prompt arrival at the hotel with fresh croissants in hand - What a sweet treat! With a true historian at the wheel, we time traveled thru the countryside into the depths of centuries before us. Very thoughtful and knowledgable local guidance made this one of the best tours our family has ever been on - worth every euro - Gracias Dani! P.S. Pack a bathing suit & towel if you want to cool off in the Lake ;)
Dani was our guide and he made sure our day trip was a great one. We explored Castellfollit de la Roca, including a very old, still working bakery and from there we visited the bridge of Llierca. We did see the Besalú, however, there was filing for a TV show happening in the town that day, and were unable to visit inside the city. Not to worry - Dani quickly altered our plan and we were able to visit Olot and the medieval village of Santa Pau instead. Our final stop at Lake Banyoles was beautiful. Dani made sure we were all comfortable (picked us up in a new mini-van), well fed and hydrated, and he provided just enough information along the way to keep our interest. He also piqued our interest to explore more of this region.
For our short stay in Girona, my wife and three teenage boys were keen to see the historical side of the region so we booked a tour with Girona Explorers. Dani picked us up in a very smart and comfortable mini-van. Dani took us to some wonderful places and the kids were blown away by the history and the scenery. He is a very relaxed but informative guide and we enjoyed his company. On reflection this day trip was one of the highlights of our European holiday.
