Vores tur eller udflugt til Altos de Chavón vil tage dig til en velkendt rekreation af en by med middelhavs- og europæisk stil, udtænkt af Roberto Copa, kendt scenedesigner af Paramount Pictures. Vores tur til den nysgerrige landsby Altos de Chavón begynder i privat transport fra vores hotel, og vi går vestpå langs den vidunderlige dominikanske motorvej, indtil vi når Chavón. Vi vil gå og nyde udsigten og frodige. Landsbyen ligger på toppen af bakken, ved bredden af Chavón-floden, og tilbyder en fantastisk udsigt over floden og dens uspolerede omgivelser. We booked an English speaking guide to learn more about the story. This tour was also confirmed to us with English speaking guide. Unfortunately, we were picked up by a Spanish speaking guide. He was very nice. Only about the village we have learned nothing. It's too bad. Yet the village is very beautiful.
Worst tour ever. But driver as very nice. It was just a drive to altos the Chavon in other words just transportation .
Nelson was a very friendly guide and driver. He picked us up at our resort on time and chatted with us on the 1.5 hour journey to Altos de Chavon. It was a private tour for just my husband and myself. We arrived very early, 930am. This was perfect because no other tour groups were there yet. We had the entire village to ourselves. Nelson walked us around the village and explained the sites and took many photos of us. He treated us to a cool beverage when the tour concluded. The price for this tour was very good considering it was a private tour and quite a distance away from Bavaro Beach.
Did not get what we paid for! Then i was told it was no gurantee from the company. Its not Viators fault.
Beautiful place. I was not given what i booked with Viator. No english guide. Our guide just walk to a few buildings then took us back. We did not see half the grounds. No refreshments given. We had to buy our own. Viator said is was not their fault. But they took our money. 6 people!!
Was a beautiful place with amazing views and not really what you expect when you hear that you are going to a made-up 16th century village. It was very well done and as it has had time to become established it did feel like it was really old. The only thing I would say that meant it was not a 5-star is that it said the visit was with a guide in English, however we had a nice driver who did not speak much English. We managed but it would have been nice to have a little more information about the village itself.
Beautiful scenery..great architecture like going back in time..the views are stunning..would do it again, anytime
Altos de Chavon is located inside the Casa de Campo, on the eastern side of the city of La Romana. We had to pay $US25 each plus have our passport copied in order to gain entry to the Campo and then drive on in to the Altos de Chavon. It is an amazing recreation of a European village including a huge amphitheater. Well worth the drive. Allocate a couple of hours to explore the village.
