Really informative, beautifully displayed and translated in both English and French. We spent about 1.30hrs going through the information and at the end we had a tea included on the rooftop.
As regulars in Marrakech, we stumbled upon the museum by chance… What a shock, this collection of dolls is just incredible. We explore Morocco and its clothing traditions in an original and so playful way. This museum is also a tribute to 40 years of passion, but I won't say more. 5€ per person with a complimentary tea is a gift. Go discover this UNIQUE place with welcoming staff!
Very interesting museum, staff very kind. Admission 5€. Mandatory to visit!
Charming museum. Envious of the colourful and decorative dress. A lovely look through history, so much diversity.
A true insider tip. Located in a beautiful riad, traditional costumes are presented with many interesting pieces of information. There is even an audio guide, and to conclude, a delicious mint tea on the rooftop terrace with a view over Marrakech.
Very intereting idea of a historical costume collection that spans from medieval times translated into miniature dolls.
Lovely little museum with helpful QR codes. Interesting view of history of Morocco through dress and clothing. Nice little roof top cafe to rest the feet and grab a coffee.
The Riad is beautiful and you will be welcomed ☺️. The exhibition is beautiful and informative. Discover Moroccan culture, its histories, customs and traditions through beautiful creations of dolls of Madame Habiba Hantout. A few videos, notes and audios accompany you to understand the geographical and temporal context. At the end of the visit I enjoyed a quiet moment on this pleasant rooftop with Moroccan tea and sweets. I loved it. Hurry into this haven of peace where the art of creation and history mix. The museum is located close to the Madrasa Ben Youssef and the Museum of Photography. GOOGLE MAPs also indicates the correct address.
Once you adjust to the hand made doll figures you step into a well researched history of traditions culture and dress. This is such a unique museum, positioned a little way from the photography museum and enroute to the tanneries. It is too good to miss, even if just to be amazed but the craftsmanship that has gone into reproducing so much detail in miniature scale. The museum is fairly new and represents years of work by a lady whose son has now opened the exhibits for celebration and review.
Lovely quiet break from the pulsing life in the streets of Marrakech. Beautiful introduction to dressing in Marocco and vicinity, through the centuries, brought to life in miniature fashion.
