Belleville er det mest berømte Street Art-kvarter i Paris. Det har været en kunstners destination siden de tidlige 80'ere. De boede i adskillige squats, der i årenes løb blev kunstgallerier, kunststudier og kunstsamfund. Det er et yndet sted for mange franske kunstnere, som Nemo, Jérôme Mesnager eller Philippe Herard. Og foreninger, som Art Azoi eller Le M.U.R., bringer ofte internationale kunstnere til scenen. Kunstneres samfund gør dette område til det mest livlige og konstant skiftende, og inviterer de lokale til at deltage i mange lokale aktiviteter, herunder kunstfremstilling, poesi eller havearbejde. This was an extremely entertaining tour, and it was a bonus to have an actual street artist leading the way. Sandrine was a lovely lady and was genuinely excited when she came across something she hadn't seen before! As well as knowing the history of street art in Paris and beyond, she was able to give us little insights into how street artists operate and point out the differing approaches of various artists to their craft. Mindful of her tour group in the heat, she brought a syphon of water to spray us in the face with as often as we wanted, which was a life saver! Towards the end, we were allowed to have a go on a wall with spray cans and some of Sandrine's stencils. Thoroughly recommended.
I highly recommend this experience. We had an amazing guide. Sandrine is truly an artist, with deep knowledge of street art and a rich understanding of its history, especially in the Belleville neighborhood. I really appreciated her approach—both insightful and engaging. It offers a completely different and refreshing vision of Paris. I recommend it 100%.
