My boys shared an instructor and I had one. Professional, fun, and encouraging. They made the last minute decision to try surfing every easy and I was able to stand in less than an hour. My two boys (8 and 10) had been doing some other surf lessons through the week and both said these instructors did more actual teaching and explaining as well as being encouraging. It was a very cool and fun experience and I’d certainly recommend this option if you want to learn to surf.

Leandro was amazing! Our whole family took lessons (kids and adults). Everyone had a blast, learned a lot, and got up on the board. Highly recommend!!

What an incredible experience! My wife and I are beginners and Leandro made it extremely comfortable. The first time was so nice we did it twice. If I’m to visit tamarindo again, this is the place I’m going for surf lessons. Leandro is super calm, composed and very patient. We did a semi private session and we weren’t disappointed at all. I absolutely loved my surf lessons with Leandro. As someone who has been doing kitesurfing for years, I know that many people can surf well but can’t really teach — and Leandro is the opposite. His way of explaining technique and theory is amazing, and once you get into the water, everything suddenly makes sense. Beyond being a great professional, I also really appreciated his mindset and approach to surfing. I feel very lucky to have learned from him. Highly recommend, and if I come back to Costa Rica, I will definitely surf with Leandro again.

We had an amazing experience with surf lessons in Tamarindo! The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and encouraging from start to finish. You can truly tell how hard they work. They didn’t stop until everyone in our group felt comfortable and had a great time out on the water. Their patience and positive energy made all the difference, especially for beginners. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Tamarindo and looking to try surfing. You won’t be disappointed!

We had a very large group for surfing; however, it didn’t feel that way! From check-in, to lessons and surfing we were all doing something. Our instructors were patient and thorough! The best part, there in the water the entire time to help you!!!! My son fell in love with surfing! I highly recommend booking!!! You won’t regret it!!! ☀️🩵

Leandro is very thorough and technical when he teaches. It’s not just a surf lesson but also a lesson in physics, kinesiology, and meteorology. My brainy son loved the theory!

Such an informative and wonderful experience. I went with my son (10 Years old) and our instructor was so patient and attentive which eased our anxiety and we both got up!

I took three surf lessons with Leandro, and as someone who arrived with zero surfing experience, I had an incredible time. His passion for surfing is obvious in the way he teaches. He is energetic, patient, and makes the entire experience enjoyable from beginning to end. The classroom portion was informative and surprisingly entertaining. Once we got into the water, I felt completely comfortable because his instructions were clear and supportive. I brought my sister for the third lesson, and she also had an amazing experience. Everyone at the surf shop was extremely friendly. They provide sunscreen, rash guards, coffee, and water, which is a thoughtful touch. They also have lockers for your belongings and showers for after your session, which makes everything very convenient. I returned a few times after my lessons to rent a board. The rentals were very inexpensive, and the staff was incredibly helpful when choosing a board. They even gave me pointers on where to go. I will definitely be coming back next year to finish the remaining lessons. Highly recommended.
