Vi henter gæsterne kl. 18.00 fra Chikpete metrostation og starter turen med et 30-minutters besøg på Chikpete Market. Chikpete, et af Bangalores ældste og mest pulserende markeder, daterer sig mere end 400 år tilbage og er et travlt knudepunkt for aktivitet. Markedet er berømt for sin rige historie inden for handel, fra tekstiler og smykker til krydderier og traditionelle genstande. At gå gennem Chikpete er som at træde tilbage i tiden og give et indblik i Bangalores kommercielle arv.
KR Market, også kendt som Krishnarajendra Market, er et af Bangalores ældste og mest livlige markeder, der går tilbage til 1920'erne. Opkaldt efter Maharaja Krishnarajendra Wodeyar, blev markedet bygget på stedet for et tidligere fort og slagmark. Det er berømt for at være et af de største engrosblomstermarkeder i Asien, der tilbyder et farverigt udvalg af blomster, krydderier, friske råvarer og traditionelle varer. Markedet er et travlt knudepunkt, der afspejler byens rige historie og kultur, hvilket gør det til et fascinerende sted for en aftentur og et indblik i Bangalores fortid.
Efter at have besøgt KR Market, vil vi gå mod metrostationen og se Bangalore Fort udefra. Fortet er lukket kl. 17.00, så vi vil se det fra et eksternt udsigtspunkt. Bygget af Kempegowda I i det 16. århundrede og senere befæstet af Hyder Ali i det 18. århundrede, spillede fortet en væsentlig rolle i regionens militærhistorie. Dens imponerende struktur og historiske betydning gør det til et fascinerende vartegn i Bangalore.
Gå gennem VV Puram Food Street, også kendt som Thindi Beedi, et berømt kulinarisk hotspot i Bangalore. Denne livlige gade blev etableret i begyndelsen af 1980'erne og begyndte med et par sælgere, der solgte traditionelle sydindiske snacks og slik. I årenes løb er det blevet en travl maddestination kendt for sine autentiske smage, der tilbyder alt fra sprøde dosas og luftige idlis til rygende varme bhajjis og friske slik. What a wonderful 3 hours spent with Ayan! He was so welcoming and friendly and shared all the history and current information about Bangalore and the area we were visiting - the oldest part of the city. It was great to experience the flower market and see all the local traders at work. The street food tour was also great - tasting many different dishes, sweet and savoury. It was also great to see the local people out eating with their families. Ayan kindly made sure I found transport back to my guest house and shared some more information with me to read and watch. All in all a really enjoyable and interesting experience and I would highly recommend it.

Had a great evening with Ayan, much more than just a food and market tour. Ayan is full of information around the history of the area, we learnt a lot before we got to the food market and then wow... so much great food! tried lots of different dishes, all of them lovely and we were absolutely stuffed! would definitely recommend this tour with Ayan as your guide 😀

Aakash was a really friendly and informative guide. Visited flower market then got metro to street where we tried street food. Interesting range of food to try - particularly enjoyed “ice apple”. We were allowed to pick whatever street food we wanted to try.

We did the tour with Ayan and I would say it is the most perfect way to get to know India and its culture! Ayan explained us so much about the culture, the food, the markets we went to and the history! The whole tour was amazing and ended with some really delicious food thanks to Ayan‘s guide through the street food market. He even made sure there is no cilantro in the food as I told him I don‘t like that very much. Would definitely recommend doing when in Bengaluru!

Stress-free foodie heaven – Jay is the perfect guide for India first-timers! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I recently visited India for the first time, and while I was incredibly excited about the culture, I was honestly terrified of the food. I had heard so many stories about 'Delhi Belly' and stomach issues that I almost decided to skip the street food altogether. Thank goodness I met Jay! Jay is an incredibly kind and welcoming guide who immediately understood my concerns. He took me through the vibrant food market with such care, pointing out exactly where the food is prepared fresh and where the hygiene standards are top-notch. He knows the vendors personally and only takes you to the safest, most authentic spots. Because of Jay, I finally felt brave enough to try amazing local delicacies—and they were a total revelation! Everything was delicious, flavorful, and most importantly: I had absolutely no stomach issues at all. If you are visiting India for the first time and are a bit nervous about the food, you MUST book a tour with Jay. Aakash was such a friendly guide and took us for a brief wander through the market (long enough to take it in but short enough not to lose interest) and then on the metro to food street. Once there he took time to suggest food for our slightly fussy kids who normally side-eye anything remotely spicy, but ended up enjoying most of what they tried. The food stops were tailored to our requests, conversations and random "ooh what's that" interjections and obviously not a set routine for every tour. He clearly loves food and chatted away enthusiastically about all the delicacies we sampled or walked past. Lovely guy to spend an evening with and top marks for entertaining our group aged from 6 to 70. Arrive hungry, we left completely stuffed.
