Vores første stop! Sig ost til Pão de Queijo AKA traditionelt ostebrød, som blander tre oste: mozzarella, schweizisk og parmesan. Så delikat, men alligevel knasende... du takker os allerede, og du har ikke taget turen endnu.
Kun en kort metrotur fra Manhattan er Astoria et pulserende og unikt kvarter i Queens. Arayes er en grillet pita fyldt med hakket kød, løg, krydderier og krydderurter, men det får den ikke til at lyde så betagende, som den er. Denne mellemøstlige ret er uden tvivl scenetyveren af denne tur, og denne ret er allerede en del af din "femstjernede" anmeldelse af denne tur. Du ved det bare ikke endnu.
At få en madoplevelse, du aldrig har haft før, er sjældent. Det er her, Al-Shams Knafeh kommer ind i billedet. Chancerne er, at denne traditionelle arabiske dessert, et spundet wienerbrød opblødt i sirup og ost, kommer ind. Du har ikke fået noget lignende. Dels dessert, dels pizza - alt alt.

We had a great time with Ian touring Astoria. The food -- Greek, Brazilian, Palestinian, Colombian -- was so good and so varied. Ian was knowledgeable and made everything fun and easy. And the neighborhood is amazing. We visited a gorgeous Greek Orthodox church, enjoyed graffiti murals, and took selfies in front of George Costanza's parents' home. We left with satisfied appetites and a great appreciation for the hidden wonders of Astoria! Highly recommended.

I had an incredible time on this food tour of Astoria! Our guide, Ian, was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and clearly connected to the neighborhood. It was wonderful to see how genuinely he’s welcomed at each stop; his relationships with the local restaurants added a personal touch to every tasting. The food itself was a true world tour of Astoria’s diverse cuisine, and the portions were generous—come hungry! The route was also easy to reach by Subway, which made the whole experience even more convenient. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Queens through its flavors.

We're pretty familiar with Manhattan, & wanted to do the boroughs. This was excellent - lot's of very good food. Fun walking in the local Astoria neighborhood. Highly recommend this tour - & especially our guide, Dante.

This is our 5th tour with Nice Guys and the first on their Astoria tour…it was wonderful! The variety of food was great and as always, it was plentiful. Ian was fun and knowledgeable; he made us feel like his friends who he was just showing off the best of his neighborhood. Such a fun way to learn more about the unique areas of NYC. Make time to do a Nice Guys tour when you are visiting the city!

This was our 3rd time with Nice Guy Tours and certainly won't be our last! Ian was brilliant - excellent knowledge of the area and the history of Astoria, and more importantly for us, like Dante and Adam before him on previous tours, he was a really nice guy who made us all feel at ease. The name isn't just a gimmick! He was especially great and considerate about the extra needs of our youngest son who uses a wheelchair. Highlight for us were the arayes at Duzan and finishing off at The Tipsy Scoop for some ice cream! As always, we couldn't recommend these guys highly enough and we will definitely book again for the Lower East Side, which we haven't done yet but already looking forward to! Until next time! Emmeline was our tour guide and she walked us around Astoria giving us so much info on the neighborhood while we sampled amazing food. We were happy with the food samples and quite full at the end. All questions were answered and the tour was full of laughter and fun. Highly recommended if you would like to venture outside of Manhattan. Don't let the train ride intimidate you, it was super simple!

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Emmeline, gave us so much interesting information about the neighborhood. I live in Astoria, and I had no idea how much I didn't know..! The food was delicious at every stop. Can't recommend this highly enough!

I hadn’t visited Astoria yet, so what better way to get to know a new neighborhood than a food tour. As far as I know, Nice Guys is the only company offering a food tour of Astoria. Having already done a tour with them (Lower East Side), booking this tour was an easy decision. The Astoria tour was a great introduction to foods and cuisines I had never tried before and I’m looking forward to having them again. If you’ve done the traditional NYC food tour already (pizza, bagel, etc.) and want something different, this is a great tour.
