Asakusa Geisha præstation og Tea House oplevelse

Miyakodori Geisha experience was the highlight of my time in Tokyo,even after living here for 10years! I came here with my 3y/o and 5months old and it was not only a family-friendly experience but a wonderful opportunity to learn more about geisha culture. I loved that we get to play a round of game with the geisha, watch them perform, have a Q&A, all while sipping matcha and enjoying Japanese sweets! They were so kind to even prepare a sweetened matcha for my daughter so she could enjoy it as much as the adults do too! There was a professional English translator throughout the experience and everybody was very welcoming and friendly to us guests. We had an incredible time, my daughter wouldn’t stop raving about it❤️

What an experience. One of a kind. An experience we will always remember. I recomend to everyone not to miss this.

First of all, I was amazed to see that you could enjoy an authentic experience outside of Kyoto. After the bustle of Asakusa, I was able to moistly immerse myself in the world of traditional Japanese performing arts, and it was like dreaming. I realized once again that I had a very valuable experience when I went outside. Thank you very much.

A unique experience at Ryotei Miyakodori where we could see the dying geisha of Tokyo-Asakusa at work. The activity lasted 75 minutes with a word first given by the manager about the dying culture of the geisha in Tokyo-Asakusa, and also in the rest of Japan. Then we were joined by no less than 3 geisha and we were spoiled with dance, music and play (Konpira Fune Fune?). Afterwards, we were allowed to ask the geisha questions ourselves to keep out some more specific things such as; how long it takes to get dressed, at what age they started their education as geisha, etc. We were offered matcha tea and for the children there was adapted matcha tea that tasted a bit sweeter. The geisha came to serve the tea personally and we could also have a personal conversation. Finally we ended the activity with a traditional farewell ceremony with handclapping and we were allowed to take a picture with all the geisha. This is a profession, an art that belongs to Japanese culture and should not be lost. Everyone over there, SAVE THE GEISHA!!

It was fabulous!! Loved getting to experience this part of Japanese culture! The games we played with the Geishas and other members of our group were very fun as well.

With live local music in the background, we were able to taste traditional Japanese culture with geisha and Hangyoku-san dancing and ozashiki play.

This was a rare and authentic experience in the heart of Asakusa. The geisha dances and shamisen performance were very elegant, and it felt like a precious glimpse into a tradition that is not easy to experience as a visitor. The staff were welcoming and the whole event was well organized. I especially appreciated the chance to speak with the geisha and learn more about the culture behind the performance.

I joined the Ozashiki experience in Asakusa, and it was one of the most memorable parts of my time in Tokyo. The geisha performance was graceful, the shamisen music was beautiful, and the atmosphere felt very special. I also enjoyed being able to interact with the geisha through conversation. It was elegant, warm, and a wonderful way to experience Japanese culture up close.

I was lucky to meet geisha at Miyakodori in Asakusa. The geisha performed elegant dances accompanied by the beautiful sounds of the shamisen, offering a glimpse into one of Japan’s most treasured cultural traditions. The owner of the establishment was herself a geisha over 50 years ago. She began her career at just 15 years old and now dedicates herself to preserving this fading tradition in Tokyo for future generations. She is a very sweet lady and made the whole experience feel very special! Opportunities like this are rare and I can really recommend you this super authentic experience if you have a strong interest in Japanese culture!
