Med afgang fra Aix en Provence, vil din lille gruppe delte heldagstur tage dig til 3 fantastiske perler i Provence. Du vil følge en vandretur i Arles, nå den charmerende lille by St Rémy de Provence og afslutte din tur med et besøg i den berømte landsby Les Baux de Provence. Under denne heldagstur vil du beundre romerske ruiner og en betagende udsigt over det omkringliggende Provence-landskab. Din dag vil blive holdt af en lokal ekspertguide.

Efter cirka 1 times kørsel kan du opdage den historiske by Arles, en befæstet by, der er opført på UNESCOs verdensarvsliste. Deltag i en vandretur i det historiske centrum for at besøge de mest emblematiske monumenter i byen, herunder amfiteatret, det antikke teater eller Saint Trophime-kirken.
Din dag fortsætter med besøget i Saint Remy de Provence, en af de smukkeste landsbyer i området. Landsbyen er kendt for at være et sommer hot og chik sted, men det er stadig muligt at finde nogle rolige områder i landsbyen, da der er mange små pladser spredt over det hele. Efter besøget fri tid til personlig opdagelse og frokost (for egen regning). Til din information er der et smukt Provence-marked om onsdagen.
Til dit sidste besøg på dagen, kør til Alpilles-bjergregionen, som er berømt for sine vinmarker og oliventræer. Nå den middelalderlige bakketop landsbyen Les Baux-de-Provence bygget på en klippeudløber, og derfra vil du have en betagende udsigt over det omkringliggende Provence-landskab. Nyd lidt fritid til at slentre og udforske de smalle gader, kunstgallerier og resterne af en fæstning fra det 10. århundrede. Efter dette besøg er det tid til at vende tilbage til Aix en Provence.

Three of the most beautiful cities I’ve visited. Our guide was a Spanish women who had a great knowledge of each town and shared her enthusiasm for each place. She shared great stories and was very friendly. If you have the chance to visit the Van Gogh asylum I’d highly recommend it You’ll have a great time no matter what you do in each town

This was a chock full of history tour of Arles, St Remy and Les Beaux. Perhaps a little too much history but a great day seeing three wonderful and different towns. Would have loved to have stopped at the Sanatorium where Van Gogh spent time instead of just driving through.

Les Baux is truly a step back in time. Saint-Remy is charming, and Arles is a history lesson that is very wonderful. Alex, once again, was a fabulous guide with an incredible knowledge of every place we visited.
Our tour guide Ines was wonderful! She helped us make good use of our time and provided interesting information about the area. If you have the option, I recommend visiting The Monastery of St. Paul de Mausole, where Vincent Van Gogh was cared for and painted many of his famous works.
It requires a lot of walking uphill at Les Baux to see beautiful vistas but worth the effort if you can. Camille was an excellent guide, personable yet professional. She knows so many of history’s back stories. Excellent use of time!!!!

Really nice drive into the country side , especially the visit to the very old hill top town of lesbaux ! Great views of the rocky area below ! Plenty of time to enjoy lunch and see enough of the very touristy town . The displays in Arles calling out locations were Vangogh was inspired were disappointing for the lack of information provided in English and the care or lack there of the painting replicates ! Driver was friendly and answered questions but lack of experience in calling out the details on the Arles walking tour was evident !

Our tour is designed to give guests an overview of three different villages in one day, which means we cannot linger too long in each place. The guide on this itinerary is a specialist of the villages, and her goal is to highlight their history and main features while still leaving some free time to explore. We booked a private tour because my mother is elderly and we wanted to skip Les Baux because of the steep hills, for more time in Arles. We are so glad we did. Arles turned out to be our favorite town in Provence. Our guide, Jehanne, was so kind and patient. She stayed with my mother when she needed to rest. Her English is extraordinary and her knowledge of history is extensive. We learned so much more on a private tour. She showed us hidden gems and helped us find a great restaurant, away from the tourists. We also spent a long time at Saint-Paul de Mausole, a beautiful and interesting psychiatric home in a monastery where Van Gogh spent a year in isolation, painting some of his most famous works. Unfortunately group tours skip this sight, as it probably gets quite crowded. We spent a total of three weeks in Provence this year and we all agreed this tour was the highlight.
