Vores første stop er Assin Manso Slave Ancestral River Site, hvor de slaverede forfædre havde deres sidste bad, før de flytter dem til Cape Coast og Elmina slotte til den endelige forsendelse. Efter Assin Manso, flytter vi til Cape Coast Castle for den vigtigste historie om slavehandelen under den transatlantiske slavehandel Erra og se døren til ingen tilbagevenden. Efter slottet får vi at nyde vandreturen til Kakum National Park, mens vi går på Canopy Walk i parken. Gør dig klar til en spændende, men fysisk krævende (15 - 20 minutters) vandretur i en tæt regnskov. Vi vil klatre op ad en bakke så bære sportslige sko, sneakers og ansigt håndklæde til skov vandreture. NB: 3 valgmuligheder til rådighed. Deltagerne vil tage på vandretur gennem regnskoven og gå på Canopy Walk Way.
Cape Coast Castle tjente som et af slaveslottene bygget på Ghanas kyster. Det tjente også som administrationscenter for britisk styre i Vestafrika. Deltagerne vil besøge museet og fangehullerne, hvor slaver blev holdt, mens de ventede på forsendelse til den nye verden.
vi besøger slavefloden Assin Manso, som fungerede som stedet, hvor slaver havde deres sidste bad på afrikansk jord, inden de blev marcheret ned til slaveslottene. De blev fodret og renset, så de fremstod attraktive og sunde for at garantere højere priser. varme strygejern blev brugt til at brænde identifikationsmærker på huden af fanger. Mærkerne var et ar på skulderen, brystet eller overarmen for at vise ejerskab. Andre gange brugte man branding for at vise, at der var betalt ordentlig told. det er nu et helligt mindested. det er hjemsted for de første 2 diasporaer (Lady Crystal fra Jamaica og Samuel Carson fra New York), hvis rester blev bragt til Ghana gennem "tilbagekomstdøren" og genbegravet. Også rester af afrikanske slaveefterkommere fra Barbados er begravet på stedet for at symbolisere frigørelse og genforbindelse.

Foster was the absolute best. He communicated prior to pick. He was on time. He also explained about construction and the delay it would cause. He made sure all the needs were met and ensured my satisfaction. He also gave information, perspective, and history along the way. As well as answered all questions. The tours themselves were very informative and exactly what I had hoped to get out of them and more. Would definitely recommend. Ask for Foster if you can.

For the past five years I’ve been studying my ancestry and I believe this trip is a necessity for everyone in the African diaspora. The long drive from my hotel to Slave River was so worth it for the wealth knowledge you receive from the tour guides. Jeff was a great driver and accommodating to my family needs. If you’re debating which castle to go to, Elmina is a must.

The history and significance of the Slave River and Castles were palpable and powerful. However the knowledge and flexibility of the guide along with the cleanliness of the transportation were less than desirable. Although this is not the accountabilty of the tour operator visitors should be alerted to the fact that because of road conditions the 95 mile drive can take 4 to 5 hours.
I am sorry you experienced that and we will take your review seriously in order to correct issues raised but our guide explained to you that portion of the road is under construction before the journey began so we are surprised you raised it that the guide didn't tell you about the nature of and the hours it will take but in all we accept it and we shall henceforth inform our cherish clients ahead of time and we shall make sure the vehicle is very cleaned to that standard you prefer before using it. What a memorable day on this tour with the excellent guide, Freedom! He was on time, so knowledgeable, and Kadelo Travels was very communicative. Being a solo female traveler on this tour, most importantly, I felt safe. This is a heavy tour but so important to see, and I’m so glad I did. I left Assin Manso and Cape Coast Castle deep in thought and contemplation. I chose the canopy walk as the third destination, but you could pick from either that or Elmina Castle. Freedom was so knowledge and shared the Ghanaian hospitality I’d heard so much about. Thank you guys for an amazing, eye-opening tour! I will use Kadelo Travels whenever I returned to Ghana.
