We enjoyed our time. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely do this again. River and Erin were very helpful and fun to work with.
Thanks for a great experience! Super fun indoor activity for the whole family. We unlocked some new skills and know how we’ll be fighting the zombies.
Wasn't sure what to expect but Alex was so friendly and helpful. Really made us feel at ease and I even hit the target! Would recommend to anyone for some fun whilst in the area.
We went last year and it was a much better experience last year. This year fell far short of expectations. Last year, we started with a 2 hand throw, then a 1 hand throw, then the "trick" shot, followed by the long axe throw, and a finale of the "around the world" game. We also got a lot more reps last year. This year, they didn't even show us how to do the one-handed throw. We also didn't get nearly as much instruction overall on any of the throws as we received last year. This year, instead of putting the 4 of us in separate lanes, they rotated all 4 of us in 2 lanes, then had us "compete" against people we didn't even know in the next lanes. We weren't there to compete against other people, we were there to compete against each other in our own group. They didn't wet down the boards before we started throwing this year. One of the lanes we were in had boards that were so worn the markings, including the bullseye, were mostly gone. The axes all had chips off the bottom of the handle. Only two axes in the bucket had the pointed edges like a new hatchet does. All the rest were rounded and weren't sticking. The music was too loud to hear the instructors. The music itself was fine, but no one could hear the instructors due to the volume. Finally, it cost us $68.40 USD for two of us ($34.20 USD per person) to throw for 1 hour last year. This year, it cost $178.35 for 4 of us, or $44.59 USD/person. So, we each got half the throwing time for $10.39 USD more per person. For the Canadian readers, that's $14.56 more per person for half the throwing time. If you go to Blade & Timber in Seattle, it's only $30/person for 1.5 hours. All in all, I wouldn't recommend Forged Axe unless they go back to a more organized setup, give each thrower more instruction and reps, and take better care of their equipment. Until that happens, your money and time are better spent elsewhere.
We did this event with family of 4 as wanted an indoor activity due to weather. We all had a fun time within the given allotment. Think there were approximately 12 axe throwing stations, washrooms, and a bar. Everything was clean, although pretty bare bones. There was one staff member serving three parties, plus manning the bar. She was lovely and was able to walk around and give tips/instruction. The atmosphere is very chill and casual in here. Only criticism is that they sweep up between customers and pop wood shavings into a small stove burning inside the room. The smell really irritated my throat, although others in the party weren’t as sensitive to it.
An excellent session learning the art of axe throwing. Brandon was our guide and he was excellent, patient, encouraging and fun. Something a bit different and you may discover you have a hidden skill and make the Wall of Fame….!
We really enjoyed our session at Forged. Brandon was our coach and was really helpful, supportive and fun. Turns out my husband has a real skill in the art of axe throwing, me less so!! We were given a few games to play which kept it varied. Would highly recommend.
Great fun and attentive team. Felt daunting at first but was much easier than I thought. A great experience. Now filling until I get 100 characters!
We had a really fun time doing axe-throwing. The hour flew by. There were loads of different games to play and some good old healthy competition. 3 out of 4 of us made it onto the wall of fame, all for different things! Host was really friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend. Location is a short drive outside of Whistler. Definitely recommend
Lots of fun. More difficult than it looks. First time, but will not be the last. The competition was unique and drinks were available.
