Denne lille gruppe tur er meget ligesom vores prisvindende "Austin Small Group Morning Walk," men måske endnu bedre! Ligesom morgenvandringen, dækker vi Austins must see favoritter som interiøret af Driskill Hotel. Men eftermiddagspromenaden er lidt længere på 2 timer og har bonusser som: Besøg Titos Vodka detail- / historiebutik på Lavaca Street, gå en tur langs bredden af Ladybird Lake Trail og opdage skønheden i det ikoniske Rainey Street-distriktet. Vi vil endda give dig tid til at udforske! Denne tur giver dig oplevelsen af, hvordan vi ville vælge at tilbringe dagen som mennesker, der kender og elsker byen. Din tur møder og afgår fra Love, Tito's på historiske Lavaca St., downtown Austin. Denne hyggelige detailbutik er den eneste forretning for Austins eneste Tito's Vodka! Willies statue står stolt foran Moody Theatre og er en ikonisk repræsentation af, hvorfor Austin er kendt som "Live Music Capital of America". Din private Austin-vandring tager dig langs en naturskøn sektion af Lady Bird Lake-vandrestien. Kun en kort smuk gåtur fra Congress Ave.-broen, (alias Bat Bridge), til det historiske Rainey St.-distrikt. Under din gåtur vil din guide informere dig om alt fra detaljer om de berømte Austin-flagermus til historien om Austin-pramme og færger før jernbroernes tidsalder. Dette er en vidunderlig skyggefuld tilføjelse til din tur med en spektakulær udsigt over byens skyline og, selvfølgelig, Lady Bird Lake. :-)
Rainey Street District er en af Austins bedst bevarede hemmeligheder! Det er en eklektisk kombination af skyhøje nye ejerlejligheder og charmerende hytter og bungalows. Disse maleriske små boliger plejede at være private hjem i Austin, men fungerer nu som nogle af de fineste og helt sikkert sjoveste restauranter og bryggerier i byen! Hjemmet til den store amerikanske forfatter, William Sydney Porter, alias O'Henry, ligger nær hjertet af centrum og er et kort stop for at anerkende O'Henrys historie og hans liv her i Austin tilbage i 1880'erne.
Ved siden af O' Henry-hjemmet ligger det tidligere hjem for vores lokale helt, Susanna Dickinson, den enlige overlevende fra Alamo (1836). På dette sted fortæller vi om Susannas tapperhed, som ikke kun overlevede Alamo, men også formåede at redde sin datter Angelina!

Driskillen er et storslået eksempel på den forgyldte alder i Austin. Dette smukke og historiske hotel har stået stolt i udkanten af East 6th siden det stod færdigt i 1886. Tyler was a great guide - informative, but in an approachable manner for teens and adults alike. We saw a good selection of Austin sights - both old and new and finished a lot more knowledgeable than we started. I would recommend.

Possibly one of the best tours I've been on in years. Tyler is a fantastic storyteller, giving a thorough deep-dive into the history of Austin. A lengthy, walking tour, but totally worth learning about the history of the city, while touring locations throughout the city. Meet-up point was easy to get to, there's a parking garage located next door, as well as a Starbucks on the corner across from Love, Tito's. There's food and drink options along the way, very cool way to experience a snapshot into Austin's downtown. Tour is safe, travel in an intimate group, and gave me a look into the city that exceeded my expectations. I definitely would love to come back and spend more time, but only had this 1 day to enjoy the city. p.s. bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes!

Two years ago we participated in a food and tour event in Mobile Alabama. That was a tour that included in the cost samples from a number of different restaurants in downtown Mobile We thought this was going to be a similar experience but it was different which was disappointing Perhaps we missed that when we read the material. Tyler did a good job showing us around downtown Austin

Our guide was full of historical knowledge which helped make the tour very enjoyable. Walking through the old neighborhoods and seeing the new skyscrapers in the background was a sight to see! Austin is a nice city to visit.

My teenage son and I were the only ones on our afternoon walking tour with Tyler. He was friendly, knowledgeable, takes pride in Austin, and paced the tour just right for us. Our fave parts were the walk along the water (even though there was a lot of noisy construction all around), stepping into the historic Driscoll Hotel, and the most delicious hidden taco restaurant we would have never stumbled upon without Tyler (Taqueria de Diez). He answered all our questions, had some good stories, and made sure there wasn’t anything we still wanted to know about before the tour ended. We asked for an ice cream shop recommendation and he suggested Amy’s Ice Creams (where my son and I walked after our tour and it was another superb place!) Thank you, Tyler for an awesome Austin tour.
