Du skal vågne ekstremt tidligt og komme til Angkor Wat, når det giver dig selv den bedste chance for at få en plads ved refleksionsbassinerne. Det er overfyldt ved solopgang, især ved de to refleksbassiner foran templet. Det er en meget vidunderlig oplevelse.
Den sydlige port af Angkor Thom er mest populær blandt besøgende, da den er fuldt restaureret og mange af hovedene forbliver på plads. Porten er på hovedvejen til Angkor Thom fra Angkor Wat.
Bayon-templet blev bygget næsten 100 år efter Angkor Wat. Den grundlæggende struktur og tidligste del af templet spiste ikke kendt. Da det var placeret i centrum af en kongelig by, forekommer det muligt, at Bayon oprindeligt ville have været et tempelbjerge, der er i overensstemmelse med symbolikken for en mikrokosmos af Mount Meru. Karakteristika for dette står over for en bred pande, nedkastede øjne, vilde næsebor, tykke læber, der krøller opad lidt i enderne, kombinerer for at reflektere den berømte Smile of Angkor.

Den spedalske kongen har terrasse med temaet storhed, der kendetegner bygningen under Jayavarman VIIs regeringstid. Det står over for dramatiske basrelieffer, både indvendigt og udvendigt. Under rydningen fandt EFEO en anden væg med basrelieff, der svarede til sammensætningen som den på den ydre væg, og nogle arkæologer mener, at denne anden væg er et bevis på en sene riter, to meter bred af laterit, der er udsat for sandsten. Ta Prohm er den ubestridte hovedstad i træernes rige. Det er efterladt uberørt af arkæologer bortset fra rydning af en sti for besøgende og strukturel styrkelse til stave for yderligere forringelse. På grund af dets naturlige tilstand er det muligt på dette tempel at opleve de tidlige opdagelsesherre, da de kom på disse monumenter i midten af det nittende århundrede. Tæt på Ta Prohm i tæt tunge jungle er æterisk i aspekt og fremkalder en romantisk aura. Fig, banyan og kapok træer spredt deres gigantiske rødder over sten, probing vægge og terrasser fra hinanden, som deres grene og blade intertwine at danne et tag over strukturerne. Trunks af træer twist blandt sten søjler. Den underlige, hjemsøgte charme af stedet fordyber sig om dig, mens du går, så uundgåeligt som rødderne har viklet sig om væggene og tårnene.
Banteay Kdei er meget kendt for opdagelsen i 2001 af en cache, hvor knuste statuer af Buddha og andre buddhistiske artefakter (274 stykker) Templet er bygget på jordoverfladen og bruges som et buddhistisk kloster. Elementerne i det originale design af Banteay Kdei ser ud til at have været et centralt helligdom

Book the tour! Yes, you can self guide with a book or wander around and snap all the money shots in the world, but do yourself (and a local) a favour and book this guided tour. Not only will you learn the history of the temple area, but Cambodia and Siem Reap in general. Our driver and guide Rain were awesome! They were punctual, courteous and kept us cool with AC in the car, icy cold towels and cold water after each location visit (you will be thankful for this, trust me!). Rain was a wealth of knowledge, with fab timing & pacing at each spot. Our tour began with a pickup at 4:30am & ended with hotel drop-off at 12:30pm. The time passed quickly in the end but we were a bit templed out and ready for a rest. Don’t underestimate how hot it will be walking around and how long it takes to get between sites; I strongly suggest to book this tour! In case you’re wondering about breakfast… Rain also took us to a local restaurant (at our request) after the first location visit (approx 8am). I highly recommend this tour, guide Rain and, the tour operator.
Both Outh Sara and Mr Rhie were brilliant, highly recommended! Car was cool and comfortable, with cold water and ice cold towels a bonus! The tours were excellent, highly knowledgeable and recommended photo locations (and being photographer) a big help! Getting to see some of the quieter temples away from main tourist areas was a major plus! Recommend for all, and going in quieter seasons has benefits all round

Excellent experience with the sunrise full day tour. Visited all of the main temples in the Angkor area. Piseth was an amazing tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Art was also very friendly always providing water and picking us up at the end of each stop.

Visiting Siem Reap and not seeing Angkor Wat is like not being there at all. I am glad that we reserved this tour and especially appreciative of our guide Mr. Sara and driver Mr Pheap. We started with a group of 4 for the sunrise tour. Sara was in our lobby waiting for our 4:30 AM scheduled time. He shared the information and details of what our options were and how long we could expect to be out. One of the most important things that he shared was that we could take a break from the tour to return for breakfast. This is important to know because in the morning heat after the sunrise, you're going to appreciate it. Our driver, Mr. Pheap drove us all to purchase the tickets for Angkor Wat and Sara continously informed us of the importance of retaining our respective tickets for entry. The tickets are $37 and it is said to be that the 37 is to match the years it took to build Angkor Wat. Sara is a great, knowledgeable, and passionate guide. He took our group from Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Bayon Temple and others. We started with 4 and 2 from our party decided to stay back after we were taken back for breakfast. I appreciate that they were able to bring us back and give us time to freshen up before returning to the tour. He provided historical context about the land, the Khmer people and the temples. It was interesting to learn about how different rulers would determine if the temple was for Buddhism or Hinduism. Sara answered all of my questions, took a lot of great photos, and because of him I can take vertical panoramic photos now. I enjoyed getting to know him and his path to becoming a Tour Guide. The tour was a highlight and provided me and my group a better appreciation of the history of not only Angkor Wat, but also the people. It just so happens that our tour was during the low season, so it was more intimate, but also it felt good to learn and support the tourism industry when it's not the busiest time. If they appreciate us as customers, we appreciate them more as the stewards of their culture and history. I am grateful for Sara and Mr. Pheap for making this such a wonderful experience for me and my group. I would definitely recommend this tour and can't suggest Sara enough for his guidance.

Our guide Sara was incredibly knowledgeable on the area and shared his first hand experiences growing up around the temples. He got us to the popular areas in time to get fantastic viewing spots and pictures of iconic areas without long lines. This tour also brought us to some of the lesser known (but just as beautiful) sites. Sara was able to answer all of our questions and teach us about the culture, history, and restoration at the sites. We’re very grateful to have had him as a private guide for the day and also for our driver Pheap, who was always right there when we finished exploring each site. The air conditioned van was a must for this long day of exploring. Pheap provided us with cold towels, cold water, and a comfortable riding experience.
