Vi skal besøge tre hovedtempler i den lille rundvisning, såsom Angkor Wat, Bayon og Ta Prohm-templet. Men med denne tur har den også et andet lille tempel, hvis du har energi, så bringer vi dig også rundt. Angkor Wat er et kæmpe tempel. Det blev bygget i 1113 - 1150 e.Kr. af kong Suryavarman II, og det måler 330 meter gange 260 meter. Angkor Wat har tre niveauer med 5 hovedtårne. Angkor Wat er blevet Cambodjas nationale symbol og findes endda på nationens flag, da det symboliserer landets sjæl. Dernæst skal vi besøge Angkor Thom City og stoppe ved den sydlige port til Angkor Thom City og Bayon Temple og derefter fortsætte til Baphuon Temple, Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King og Royal Palace. This company supports a wonderful children’s charity! The tour was outstanding and our guide Thom was extremely knowledgeable about Cambodian culture and history. His English is very good and the transportation was excellent ~cold beverages and towels were always on hand.

My tour guide (Dan) was terrific! He was a good storyteller and had a vast knowledge of Cambodian history (both cultural and political) as well as the religions that shaped the building of the temples and the carvings on the walls. He also augmented his discussions with pictures and videos. For instance, one of the relief sculptures on the wall depicted a Hindu battle scene. He showed me a short video of the battle that really helped pull it all together. He encouraged questions and answered everything with the right level of detail. Plenty of cold water and cold towels were available. There a lot of walking and climbing up stairs and uneven stones to step on and over so bring good walking shoes and a lot of energy. We were fortunate that it was reasonably mild weather that morning (85 degrees) so it wasn’t as taxing as it may be in warmer weather. I highly recommend this tour.

It was our first time visiting the temples in Siem Reap and we had an unforgettable experience with Thom. We wouldn’t have known anything about what we were looking at but Thom had so much knowledge about everything we saw!
