Bang Pa-In Palace er et gammelt palads tilbage til Ayutthaya-æraen. Det kongelige palads i Bang Pa-In har en historie, der går tilbage til det 17. århundrede. Det er et af de ældste og mest betydningsfulde templer i Ayutthayas historie, da det husede Buddhas hellige relikvie. Templet ligger i området af Ayutthaya Historical Park. hvor vigtige kongelige ceremonier fra Ayutthaya-æraen blev afholdt.
Den historiske by Ayutthaya, grundlagt i 1350. Byen blev angrebet og raseret af den burmesiske hær i 1767, som brændte byen ned til grunden og tvang indbyggerne til at forlade byen. Byen blev aldrig genopbygget på samme sted og er i dag kendt som et omfattende arkæologisk område. Ayutthaya er nu en arkæologisk ruin, kendetegnet ved resterne af høje prang (relikvietårne) og buddhistiske klostre af monumentale proportioner, som giver en idé om byens tidligere størrelse og dens arkitekturs pragt.
Bygget i 1630 af kong Prasat Thong for at ære sin mor, Wat Chai Wattanaram blev udtænkt som en kopi af Angkor-templet. Den arkitektoniske stil påvirket af Angkor-templet i Cambodja - dens unikke egenskab er en stor, central prang (Khmer-stil pagode) omgivet af mindre prangs.
Phra Mongkhon Bophit er en af de største bronze Buddha billeder i Thailand med sine måler (ca.) 9,5 meter på tværs af omgangen og en højde på 12,5 meter (uden piedestal). Buddha-billedet sidder i positionen som undertrykker Mara. Wat Mongkhon Bophit er et 'aktivt' tempelkompleks, og i løbet af dagen besøger og tilbeder mange mennesker Buddha-billedet.
Templet er ikke kun et betydningsfuldt historisk sted, men betragtes også som thailændernes åndelige centrum i lang tid. Wat Phra Sri Sanphet er det kongelige kloster, og derfor må ingen munke opholde sig. I hjertet af templet er der tre tilstødende ceylonesiske (eller klokkeformede) pagoder placeret på rektangulære platforme. Det menes, at disse platforme var basen for kongehuse i Ayutthaya-perioden.

Our guide (Wat, whose name is something else but said to call him this) was a wealth of information throughout the whole day. He was also very accommodating to what we wanted to do/see. We weren’t interested in stopping for lunch, which he completely understood and it was nice to have the day shortened slightly by that and get back to Bangkok with time to still spend the day around our hotel.
We had an excellent experience with our guide Rawat for a private tour. He came early for our pick up and explained how the day will proceed. Rawat was knowledgeable about surroundings and spoke about it. The tour can be tailored to how long or short you want to see each site. The tour was seamless as I did not want to think about where to go and the logistics. Driver was great too as he drove efficient and took short cut backroads to avoid traffic. If you don’t want to do the tour group bus thing and want to do a tour at your own pace then check this out.

Excellent tour from Bangkok to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and Auytthaya. Our guide Kulsaya and our driver were excellent. Kulsaya contacted us the day before to introduce herself and check we knew the dress code requirements for the Summer Palace as they are stricter than for temples (i.e. no shorts for men). Pick-up from our hotel was punctual and followed by a drive of around 1h30 to the beautiful Summer Palace, which was amazing to visit. After that we visited three different locations at amazing Auytthaya, a true taste of Thailand's history! Kulsaya was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the history of all the sights and of Thailand - we learned so much! She was also extremely good at finding the perfect spot for photos! It was an incredibly hot day and we were struggling quite a bit with the heat but Kulsaya was professional, thoughtful and fun the whole time, even stopping to get us ice-cold bottles of water to keep us hydrated and cool when we exited from one of the temple sights. Handy hint - all of the Auytthaya sights we visited had free umbrellas available to borrow to keep the sun off so that did help a bit. Also you can't enter with water or iced drinks etc - if you have any you will have to drink or dispose of them before you'll be allowed to enter. The whole day ran perfectly to schedule, apart from the return journey due to the traffic. But our driver handled it well, knew a few short cuts and drove safely at all times. Definitely a great tour to see two of Thailand's most amazing historical sights, highly recommended!

I reserved this tour for my family and I but I needed to change the date of the tour because of a work situation and when 2 months before the tour original date I tryed to move forward the date of the tour, this people quoted me the tour on the new date with almost 100% increase in the price. Fortunately they let me cancel the reservation without a charge but we are very disapointed
