Beskrivelse

Unique opportunity to see 10,000 year old petroglyphs and play in live mud volcanoes!

I'll do this one in parts as there were several different stops. --Qobustan - These cave sketches were AWESOME.. As they were over 10,000 years old its incredible how good of shape they were in and I would definitely recommend checking them out. The museum there was REALLY well done and signs were in English as well. --Mud Vulcano - This is another very unique opportunity! Some of the volcanoes could be lit on fire with a match due to the leaking methane. The other volcanoes that were filled with mud were just bubbling bubbling away. You could heard them pop as they bubbled to the surface. You could also stick your hand in and draw in the mud. BONUS - I paid our driver 10 bucks to let me drive his 40 year old Russian 4 speed car on the dunes and that was really fun! Ateshgah - This stop at the fire temple as not very interesting. The fact that a few different religions all lived there at once was pretty cool though. BONUS - I complimented one of the tour guides (Almira) on how cool her glasses were.. the very glasses she was WEARING and she gave them to me! I was so flattered and I'm going to put a prescription in them when I get home. Yanardag Fire Mountain Tour - For me this was a big dud. I have just went to the "Gates of Hell" in Turkmenistan and they were 500 times bigger and more impressive than this one tiny flame. i would skip this stop all together.

An amazing day and incredible experience. My guide Farhad was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and great company. As a solo female traveller I felt comfortable and safe at all times and enjoyed the whole day immensely.

Enjoyable Tour

Let me just start that every tourist have different preferences when it comes to a tour. And what we experienced was about our style and perfect for us. Pasha was our driver/guide, although he is not (yet) fluent with english, he explained the interesting parts of each every location. He did also accommodated a stop that was not on the itinerary, which was nice. We enjoyed the tour and it was really fun.

Good but could be way better!

We (2 adults and 1 infant) took the private tour and the overall trip was fine. But there are many ways it could have been better. What went well: 1. The driver was on time and kept the communication channel live. 2. The driver was very patient (we had an 18 month old kid with us) and accommodated all delays. 3. The driver covered all the spots in the itinerary and didn't rush us. Also, we weren't the type to spend too much time at a place. What could have gone better: 1. The person who accompanied us was merely a driver. He did not come with us inside any of the attractions which meant we didn't have a guide. Spending $200 and not having a guide was certainly a let down. 2. The lunch option wasn't really vegetarian friendly (we'd given that instruction whilst making the reservation). The driver accommodated a change in restaurant, but we had to push.

Not as described, not worth the money

You do not get what is listed in the description. Our guide did not speak English. The car had no water bottles. We did not receive our free fridge magnet souvenirs and the 'Lunch' is terrible oily food and you don't get it until the last stop on the trip when you are finished with the tour.
