Our street food tour with Allegra was an absolute highlight! She guided us through the vibrant local market and introduced us to some fantastic hot spots. On a hot day, she had us try a traditional drink of lemon, soda water, and salt, which was incredibly refreshing and nourishing. The food was incredible—we enjoyed mouth-watering arancino, fresh seafood salad, and an array of delicious deep-fried treats. The entire experience felt wonderfully authentic. We finished the tour with fresh peaches and topped it all off with traditional Sicilian granita. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The only complaint that we would have is that the food on this tour was not as we had expected which is a big part of this tour. There were things like octopus and sardines that many people did not partake of. We passed on several of the food offerings. Also, we ourselves are not vegetarians, but this tour struggled to accommodate vegetarians.

At Streaty, we don’t aim to accommodate the culinary tastes of every traveler, but rather to offer an authentic experience of what locals actually eat, in the places where they eat it. Catania’s street food includes many seafood specialties, such as octopus and sardines, which are deeply rooted in the city’s traditions. Of course, this tour cannot represent the immense richness of Sicilian cuisine as a whole: our focus is specifically on millenary street food traditions. That means tasting local masterpieces such as arancino, cipollina, sarda a beccafico and the Siciliana fried calzone—foods that are part of Catania’s authentic street food culture. We’re sorry some of the offerings weren’t to your taste, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to explain, and proudly, what makes our tours different :)
Allegra was fantastic! She was friendly and easy to understand. She mixed history lessons with the food tour to provide an entertaining and yummy experience! 10/10 worth the money. So much food, we couldn't eat it all. Skip breakfast completely for the lunch tour time.

There was us and our fabulous guide Allegra. VIsit the market tried new food and did a little shopping while we were there. Catania market is amazing. Never see anything like this before with swordfish looking like ham. Tried the lemon szeltzer which I had again on another visit. A lot of fun and we were just 3 which made it more intimate. Very nice time

We met Gisela at our meeting point as instructed. We couldn't have been more blessed with our guide. Never met a guide so gracious, articulate, knowledgeable, spontaneous, charismatic and full of life and love for what she does. She had us tried so many things and for each bite she provided a complete encyclopedia of information. She adjusted the walk as experiences opened up to new adventures. What a natural!
