Al Jahili-fortet har været et kulturelt omdrejningspunkt for aktiviteter forbundet med filosofi og arv fra Abu Dhabi i Garden City. Al Jahili er et af de største forter i UAE og blev bygget i 1890'erne på ordrer fra Zayed The First som hjemsted for medlemmer af Al Nahyan regerende familie.
Qasr al-Ain eller "Al Ain Palace", er et af de bedst genindførte fort i Abu Dhabi-emiratet. Museet viser hverdagen i en linealfort, da den afdøde Sheikh Zayed og hans familie boede i paladset før 1966. Den beduinske stilarkitektur stammer tilbage til 1937 og blev omdannet til et museum i 1998 som en vigtig kulturel og turistattraktion.
Den historiske oase strækker sig over 3000 hektar og giver en unik indsigt i regionens indbyggere, der begyndte at temme ørkenen for 4000 år siden. Al Ain-oasen har været et UNESCO-verdensarvsted siden 2011, men først nu med opførelsen af et uddannelsesmæssigt økocenter og et omfattende system med skyggefulde stier, der vinder gennem ca. 147.000 datoer. Webstedet huser op til 100 forskellige vegetationssorter, der omgiver den imponerende oase, med udbredte plantager, der også fungerer gårde.
Al Ains berømte kamelmarked er en vidunderlig nedsænkning i traditionel arabisk kultur. Fra unge arabiske kameler, der måske vokser op til at være racere, til imponerende voksne kameler, der er ideelle til opdræt, er markedet en enestående oplevelse for at få et nærmere kig på dyret, der nyder et specielt sted i Emirati-arven.
Foto stop: Stiger 1.240 meter og er Jebel Hafit emiratets højeste top og UAEs anden. Denne ruvende klippehøjde, der står vagt over Al Ain og grænser op til Oman, er smedet ud af skørt kalksten, der er blevet forvitret i flere millioner år. we did a one-day tour as a couple to Al Ain. The company was very serious, there were only us but the tour was still guaranteed with a minibus. At our complete disposal the driver-guide (Jakir) who was precise in taking us to all the places planned by the tour managing the timing and movements. kind and thoughtful. We visited the planned sites. absolutely beautiful and unmissable to get to know this exceptional land and population. Tradition, respect and kindness are everywhere, Al Ain is full of history and culture, everything is orderly and well kept. fascinating customs and the spirit of determination and dignity that has allowed this land to transform in an enviable way. Lunch planned in a luxurious hotel with refined dishes. Absolutely a tour not to be missed. Only one visit missed because the site was under renovation. Maybe it could have been replaced with another stage, but this allowed us to stay longer in the other stages.
Unique experience, very different from most Dubai programs. The camel market and the view is remarkable. Audio guide was very informative.
Absolutely worth doing if you've got a little more time in Dubai (UAE). An escape from the city & how it came to be! If you love history & want to experience the historical side of the UAE & what life was like pre oil, then this is a must do! You get to see & experience the old fort & royal palace + enjoy a great all you can eat buffet. There's also the mountain range at the end with a spectacular view. The camel site is not for the faint hearted though... It's a great cultural experience, but also a sad one (even as a meat eater). Our tour guide was Rilwan Mohama'd. He was very kind & informative. He told us lots about each site we visited. He also did a pit stop on the drive back to Dubai for a quick drink & loo break. My only slight niggle, is the lunch is a bit later in the tour, so definitely bring a water bottle & little snack (crisps or something to nibble in the car). We left our bags in the car at each side we visited.

We have chosen Full Day Al Ain Tour with lunch to discover the UNESCO oasis. Our tour guide Razwan was very kind. We visited AL Jahili Fort, Al Ain Palace Museum, Al Ain Oasis, Camel Market, Jabal Hafeet panoramic viewpoint (unfortunately during the tour you don’t visit the summit) and Mubazarah Hot Springs. Some stops could be longer but overall I recommend the tour. Futhermore, the very delicious lunch was included.
