Loved Addo with Alan Tours

I had a great time on my tour of Addo Elephant National Park with Alan Tours. Alan spotted things that were nearly invisible. His expertise was first class. I'm glad I got to go with Alan. He was funny and courteous, in addition to so knowledgable about the animals. I highly recommend this tour.

Hi J911VNmichaelp, Wonderful to hear back from you and thank you for the great review you posted on Trip Advisor, it is so important to have these reviews for those who wish to select places to visit, what to do and with whom to spend their valuable down time. The Addo Elephant National Park is a brilliant option with so much diversity both in habitat and wildlife. The park is recognised as a truly authentic Big 5 destination, the third largest National park in the country and by far the most diverse with the coastal envirnment being included within the parks boundaries and second only to mighty Kruger national Park in its popularity with the travelling public, It is so easy to access being on the very doorstep of a major metropolitan city, Port Elizabeth, with both an airport and harbour facilities. Wonderful to hear from you and maybe we'll see you back on our sunny shores in the not too distant future. Take care Alan

Fantastic two days in the Eastern Cape with Andrew

We did the 4x4 Tour around Kabouga, which is a very remote section of Addo Elephant National Park. This park is rarely explored and its likely that 99% of visitors of Addo have never heard of it. It is definitely worth a trip. The area is a lot more untouched wilderness than the main park which - despite being quite large - is clearly laid our and feels like a park. We also did a tour around the main park and a boat cruise with Andrew (boat: Stampede). Both days were really enjoyable. Andrew is a really nice guy who is respectfully to humans and animals alike. He has a huge amount of experience and can read animalrs very well and knows when to give a grumpy buffallo a bit more space. Andrew also has a lot of interesting stories to tell and knows a lot about the animals and the environment. He really does go the extra mile to make sure you have a good experience and enjoy your time in the Eastern Cape. We'd thoroughly recommend Alan Tours and Andrew in particular.

Hi Johannes! and C Thank you for a fantastic review! Kudo's to the two of you for spending your holiday time tackling something a bit more adventurous than some the normal day trips on offer! We really love driving off the beaten tracks and any opportunity to put these Toyota Landcruisers through their paces really doesn't need a second invitation! The combination of starting out slow and easy on the ocean with dolphins, penguins and finally being rewarded with the humpback whales (mother and calf)! then on to see their land based cousins the elephants of Addo! With its abundant wildlife Addo is full of surprises, such as the grumpy buffalo bull you mentioned (who probably got out on the wrong side of the bed that day!) and the emotional interactions of mother elephants and their offspring! A day later and up early for the big 4x4 adventure! Not too long after setting off we had our first sighting a, large flock of ostrich and soon after were rewarded with the fleeting glimpse of a golden brown Cape cobra, always a highlight! Fresh coffee at the farmhouse and then the 4x4 trail starts, up and over the historical wagon trail through the ramparts of past battles won and lost. Onwards and upwards! Finally cresting the mountain top with it's spectacular panorama unfolding on the waterfilled lake glistening in the valley below! Apon reaching the valley floor the denisens of the drier Karoo semi arid landscape became visible...chacma baboons, springbok and gemsbok, all battling for survival in the drier biome! Once back on the tarmac we were treated to a brief respite in the form of a downpour of much needed rain...a fitting end to a unique experience! All the more pleasurable for your company, Salute! Best regards Andrew
