Teddy and his driver Sultan navigated two of us through the frenzy of the Merkato, which was one of the sites I was very curious to experience in Addis. Definitely worth a trip, but do go with an expert guide like Teddy. We also enjoyed the traditional lunch and some Tej as well as Teddy’s informative walk though the national museum (home of Lucy); you gain a great sense of Ethiopia’s deep and ancient history. We only requested a half day tour and finished up around 3. I would have liked to go even more local like shopping for Ethiopian honey and see how people in Addis shop for food and go about their day. Next time I’d call Teddy and Berana Ethiopia Tour early to see even more of this fascinating city.

Everything about this tour was personal. It was a view of Addis Abbaba with a driver and guide who let us in to their personal experiences and gave us an understanding of the city and its history. Everything, from the personal guiding the visit to the National Museum and the Archaeological Museum to the overlook of the city and the traditional meal included were interesting and well presented. We appreciated the warmth and welcoming nature of the trip and know that we could never have gained the insights into the city on our own, even in several days.
