I can only assume this was a scam. Firstly, we booked with Viator (TripAdvisor is our favorite, however) and have used their services in numerous cities and destinations around the world. Because of those positive experiences, we felt completely comfortable booking a private boat trip in Miami through their platform. This was a family outing with children and elderly parents, and we were excited to start our holiday by enjoying the Miami skyline from the water. We made the booking, paid in full, received our tickets and barcode confirmation, and traveled over an hour by Uber to the designated marina for our midday departure. When we arrived, there was no boat. After waiting and repeatedly attempting to contact both Viator and the operator, Feeling Yachty, we were eventually informed that the boat we had booked was unavailable. We were then told that if we still wanted to go out on the water, we would need to pay an additional $375 for a smaller boat located at a different marina, approximately 20 minutes away. The communication from Feeling Yachty was extremely poor throughout the entire process. At that point, we felt completely held to ransom. Having already invested time, transportation costs, and the day with our family, we reluctantly agreed. We had already wasted three hours. After finally reaching the second marina nearly two hours later, we were shocked to discover that the replacement vessel, called "The Hulk," was nothing like the boat we had originally booked and paid for. We went out for approximately an hour before deciding to return to shore. The only positive aspect of the experience was the skipper, who was very pleasant and professional despite the circumstances. This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. There are plenty of boat charter options in Miami, and based on our experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding Ulisse, HULK and any boat associated with Feeling Yachty. Proceed with extreme caution.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the frustration, delays, and disappointment your family encountered during what should have been a relaxing Miami boat rental service experience. We understand how upsetting it must have been to arrive expecting one vessel and face unexpected changes, added costs, and communication issues. This is not the level of service we aim to provide for guests enjoying water adventures and exploring by boat. We appreciate your feedback and would welcome the opportunity to review your reservation details directly and work toward a proper resolution.
