Our family really enjoyed this tour. There was a lot of complexity since we were touring Lima for a day, going to the Amazon jungle, doing a day of biking in the countryside around Maras and seeing the amazing salt mines, hiking for 5-6 hours to Machu Picchu, touring Machu Picchu, and touring Cusco - all in 10 days! I was worried about the logistics but Cultural Immersion handled it all without a glitch. Between planes, trains, automobiles, boats, and transfers this was quite a feat. And we had wonderful guides the entire time who had great personalities and energy. I'd highly recommend the experience to anyone and I'd say it would be very hard to find a better tour company to do it with.
We actually did the 10 days (9 nights) tour with cultural immersion! Willie was our driver and Alvaro was our guide. We had a great time on our vacation where we visited The Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco and finally the Amazon Jungle. lots of early mornings with a well balanced schedule. If you're looking for a peruvian experience but are short on time then I recommend the 10 day/9 night tour (available on their website). The whole process of booking and communicating was really easy for us - Alvaro (our guide) was also the person who handled our booking and whom I was planning with through email so that was lovely to put a face to the name!
We booked this tour due to reasonable pricing and the good reviews. We were beyond amazed with how smooth the trip went and how much we were able to see. The tour company takes care of everything-domestic flights, day tours, a private guide, etc. This makes it to where we did not have to worry about anything while on the trip-it was already taken care of. The hotels the company booked us for were wonderful-nice staff, clean, and a great location. We loved all of the tours/excursions we did. What truly made this tour great though was the staff. Our first driver Fernando was extremely nice, when we mentioned wanting to see the ocean (my mom had never seen it before) he offered to pick us up early and take us! Then, the tour guide we had for Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu (I feel terrible I can’t remember his name) was outstanding! He was polite and SO knowledgeable! He was very engaging when talking about the different sites we visited. Lastly, our rainforest stay was incredible. The hotel we stayed in was amazing, and our days were packed full of excursions. We were able to see so many animals, including monkeys, a python, an anaconda, caiman, and so much more! I would absolutely recommend this tour company to anyone who is interested in visiting Peru!
Thanks for your review, Samanta We're happy to hear about your great time in Peru, We will let all the staff to know about of your kinds comments. We look forward to serving you again. Best Regards.
We had 2 nights in the Amazon at Amazona Posadas. We packed in a lot to very little time. The lodge was beautiful and very comfortable, food was excellent. Our guide was very good but seemed a bit disinterested at times. Very knowledgeable. We then went to Cusco, had a walking tour and cooking class. Our new guide, Albero was excellent. Our cooking class with Jesus was fun, very accommodating. We then moved on to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Highly recommend the hike at MP Mountain. Our guide was very supportive and patient! Next we then went to the Rainbow Mountain. Unfortunately, though I requested we NOT go to Vinicunca, that is where we were taken. It was very beautiful, but very crowded. I did not understand why we did not go to Palcoyo. Was told later it was not accessible due to landslides. This may have been the case, but was unhappy about the lack of transparency prior to embarking. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and grateful to have completed it before the travel restrictions were set in place for the COVID pandemic.
Hi Jzeliger51, we want to thank your comments, we will take note of the details you mentioned us to improve our service. We a re glad to hear about tour great time discovering our beautiful country. Looking forward to serve you. Best Regards.
Aside from Peru’s unique, rich culture, unmatched beauty and easy-going people, it is still a foreign country and inexperienced travelers (like me) can be intimidated by all of the “what-ifs.” Cultural Immersions excels in taking care of those potentially complicated or stressors so it’s travelers can simply enjoy the adventure! They arrange airport and hotel pick-ups and drop-offs, prearrange train tickets and personable tour guides, select highly recommended safe, quiet hotels with lots of free delicious meals within walking distance of places to explore during down-time. During the planning phase leading up to the departure date, Grethel was tentative and easy to work with. We thought Manchu Picchu would be the high point (it did not disappoint!), but the charm and unexpected rusticity of our time in the Amazon was perhaps my favorite part; I can’t decide-it was all simply unforgettable. We had to book our own domestic flights from Lima to Cusco, Cusco to Pto. Maldonado and back to Lima so it was very fast paced and I would dissuade bringing younger children on this particular tour-it’s sunrise to sundown activity packed days. Can’t wait to book another adventure elsewhere thru Cultural Immersions. highly recommend.
We are happy to read your comment. Thanks for letting us know that we did well :) We will be more than happy if you return to Peru, Ecuador or Bolivia and decide to travel with us, it will be a pleasure to have you. Kind Regards
I was blown away by this tour. Two friends and I decided to go to Peru and we thought a tour would be the best way to keep up organized. We never once regretted selecting this tour. Alvero and carlos were the best and did the absolute most to introduce us to Peruvian culture. There is both guided time and free time in this tour, so we were able to explore on our own as well. We also loved the amazon lodge we stayed at. So many awesome memories. Book this tour!!
Thank you for trusting Cultural Immersion. We are happy to create unforgettable experiences for our travelers. We hope to have you soon with us again!
We could not have asked for a better trip. Our tour guide, Alvaro, and driver, Carlos, were always on time for every meet up. Alvaro was knowledgeable, friendly, and adjusted the tour based on our needs. The tour was a good blend of planned activities and free time to explore on our own. We we were able to see all the main attractions and more. We didn't waste time in lines or in crowds. Our accommodations in Lima and Cusco were top notch and beautiful! The staff at each hotel were so accommodating and had levels of service. There really isn't anything we could critique about our entire experience. We had a great time and we would absolutely do it again.
It really comforts us to know that you have had a great experience with us. Thank you
Loved every moment of being in Peru. Our guide and diver were kind and well informed. The amazon was amazing but know that there is no power at night (I think it was 10pm-8am). This means no fans. I wish I came a bit more prepared for this part of the trip.
Cultural Immersion customized their Amazon and Machu Picchu to meet our schedules and interests. It could not have been easier to travel to 5 destinations within Peru without a glitch. The guide and driver did not miss a beat. They were knowledgeable and fun.

Highly reccommend this tour. Roma from Cultural Immersion, the tour operator, took every care to make this holiday memorable for me and my wife. We communicated by Whatsapp before the trip. We do not speak spanish and so depended on our excellent guide Danny. He is well read and proud of his heritage and gave an unique perspective on the Andean life through the ages. Thanks Danny. By the second day in Cusco, with Danny's help, I could look at a building and estimate when the Incas had first constructed it and what it's initial purpose was by seeing the type of stone foundation and then identify the spanish construction over it. What the different head gear signified and so much more. I caught a flu and was not active for the first 3 days after reaching Cusco. Danny made sure that our physical activity was tailored to our ability. Cultural Immersion is the apt name. Highly recomend this tour. The van driver was great. Place of stay was fine. We travelled in December and as it was off season, there was no crowd and we had an amazing time in both Cusco and in Machu Picchu. The weather was perfect. There is no obesity in the Andean hills as we have to move up or down with every step. Felt we had over prepared for the Amazon Jungle trip. There is no need for special shoes as they provide gumboots till size 44. Disposable inexpensive plastic Ponchos are available at the lodge. Picked up a Claro sim card at the Lima airport ,this helped as my Vodaphone international roaming did not work in Peru. Some of my fellow travellers mentioned that there is an issue with their flights getting cancelled at the last minute. Roma had arranged for web check in and in every place we stayed, the boarding passes were handed over to us by the hotel staff, for the next flight. This was weird as we are used to doing this on our own in India. We spent the last day in Lima at the Larco museum. This tied the different experiences together. Strongly recommend this trip.
