My son and I summited Mount Kilimanjaro this April with Mafie Adventures, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. There were moments when the challenge felt like more than I was capable of, but thanks to our guides, Oliver and Matthew, they carried us through by encouraging us, and singing with us, and generally keeping our mindsets strong every step of the way. Their belief in us made all the difference. What truly set this journey apart, though, was the entire team behind the scenes. The porters, the cook, the summit porter, and Mudi—who greeted us with meals morning and night—were all just as essential to our success. Their energy, kindness, and camaraderie created something special. The songs, the laughter, and the genuine friendships we formed along the way became as meaningful as reaching the summit itself. If you’re considering taking on Kilimanjaro, you won’t find a better team than Mafie Adventures. They are authentic, caring, and full of heart—with a great sense of humor to match. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

A truly unforgettable experience! Mafie made my dream come true. I had been dreaming of climbing this mountain for a couple of years, and from the very beginning, Erastus was always available—day or night—to answer any questions or concerns I had about the trip. He made everything clear, from pricing to the crew to choosing the right number of days, ensuring that my father and I had the best possible chance for a successful summit and an incredible experience. Even though it was an 8 day for the Lemosho route it was no problem for Erastus to change us to a 9 day for extra acclimatization to make us feel more ready! On top of that, the value for what we paid was exceptional—honestly far beyond what we expected for the level of service and care we received. We were beyond satisfied with the entire team. With two guides, a cook, and nine porters, everyone felt like family by the end of the journey. We truly would not have made it to the summit without them. Oliver and Matthew were outstanding—extremely knowledgeable about the mountain and always making the right decisions based on how we were feeling each day. The food was absolutely incredible, far exceeding our expectations. And the porters were amazing—always smiling, offering fist bumps as they passed us, and somehow arriving ahead of us at camp to have everything perfectly set up. Honestly, the whole team felt superhuman with their strength, positivity, and constant support. Nothing was ever done halfway; it was the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced in my life. If you’re considering climbing Kilimanjaro, going on safari, or doing any expedition in northern Tanzania, I would 1000000% recommend this company. Mafie is truly exceptional at what they do.

I joined an 8-day expedition to climb Kilimanjaro and overall had a very positive experience on the mountain. The guides were friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, always adapting to our needs. We felt safe at all times and trusted the team completely with our belongings and tents. The food exceeded expectations—delicious, well-cooked, and far better than we anticipated for a mountain trek. Everything was ready upon arrival at each campsite, and clean hot and cold water was always available. The team was welcoming and in great spirits from day one. On the logistics side, the hotel included the day before and after the hike was decent, and the company offers airport transfers. However, whether transfers are included depends on your schedule, which can be confusing. I arrived one day late and was charged $70 for the transfer to the park gate. Communication before the trip is mainly through WhatsApp. Although responses are quick, the information provided can sometimes be limited or unclear. The website also lacks detailed information, and the different pricing packages are not well explained. I later learned that the same route can be completed in fewer days for a significantly lower price. Overall, it was a great experience thanks to the mountain team, but the company could improve communication, transparency, and clarity around pricing and logistics.

Erastus and his Kili team led by Oliver created an ever lasting memory for our group with a successful climb to Kili summit on Feb 2nd, 2026! From the point of landing to safely dropping us back at the airport at the end of the journey, every single detail is taken care of by Oliver and his great friendly and warm team of porter friends. Had an amazing time, great food every single meal on all 8 days, positive hard working company, daily guidance on health and hiking, and we miss the team and all of the memories already that we would like to go back again! Amazing experience! I can not fault the mountain team. The guides (Oliver and Richard) were friendly, welcoming and made us feel safe. All of the porters do a brilliant job and work very hard. They all come together as a team to motivate us and lift our spirits daily to make our experience one to remember!

This was my first time visiting Tanzania. The staff for the Kilimanjaro trek were absolutely amazing. They supported me all the way. The food was great. Since I had two extra days, Mafie adventures set me up with an amazing one day safari and a wonderful city tour. I highly recommend Mafie Adventures. They are a trustworthy company that will take care of all your needs.

I booked the 8 day Lemosho Kilimanjaro trip and a 3 day Safari including the Serengeti and Ngorongoro as a solo trip with Mafie Adventures and was not disappointed. Anaeli, the guide I had was knowledgable and friendly, the crew were also very welcoming, and the daily meals were great. We successfully made it to the summit on day 5 and I was even given a couple of rest days at a hotel since I finished the trekk earlier than planned. The safari experience was also good, taking me around Serengeti and Ngorongoro and having the opportunity to see all sorts of wildlife. Meals were very good. Start to finish, from airport transfers, to accommodation before and after the mountain and safari, everything went smoothly and allowed me to have an incredible experience in a country with a lot to offer the adventurous explorer wanting to get away from it all. I did what I wanted to do and managed to do it at a cheaper price than other operators were quoting, I would recommend Mafie Adventures.

I had a great time with Mafie adventures. I was supposed to do the 7 day Lemosho route, but my guide Ombeni and our porters were so talented and accommodating that we made it up and down in only 5 days. I also did a 3 day safari with Mafie adventures visiting Tarangire and Lake Manyara national park, as well as Ngorongoro conservation area. Due to a falling out with our original tour operator Mafie was able to get us to the national park on the same day as we asked for their services. Amazing! Erastus, Mafies boss, has a personal touch and follows up on you the whole way. I am very very satisfied with everything.

Great organisation and really good team of porters, cook and guide with a great professional service. I have also done the 3 day safari and Materuni waterfall and coffee experience with the same level great experience.

I booked 14 days with Mafie Adventures to do both a safari and a 7 day Lemosho route to summit Kilimajaro. I contacted the owner, Erastus via email and he messaged me back right away on Whatsapp. The booking process was easy. He sent me an itinerary and we agreed on a price. His service included nearly everything, airport transfer, hotel, and driving to and from the parks and Kilimanjaro. We added day trips on our "rest days" in Arusha. Erastus booked a local guide to walk us around Arusha, and a driver to drive us around Arusha on 2 separate days. The safari was AMAZING! Our driver Sam, was super knowledgeable and gave us all the time we wanted to look at and take pictures of the animals. Saw almost everything! The lodges, included in the price ranged from good to great. Erastus also booked us a hot air balloon ride which left us speechless. A must do add on!! Mt Kilimanjaro was also AMAZING! The crew of 15 guides and porters were excellent. We are so appreciative of the hard work they put in to make our African dream come true. A big shout out to George and Oliver (guides), Sayid (cook), Johanna (waiter), John (summit porter) and all of the other porters. We were in excellent hands and were well fed and well taken care of. Our whole group successfully summited Mt Kilimanjaro at dawn on May 31, 2025. Mafie Adventures has an extraordinary team owned by a local Tanzanian and I highly reccomend using them for your next Tanzanian adventure.
