7 Alpine Wonders: Winter Edition

Triglav National Park is just amazing! The tour was very well organized. Our guides Aleksandra and Veronika were doing their job with passion and love. The group I joined was very international and we had a lot of fun. I can highly recommend this operator and the tour itself.

Best tour I’ve ever taken with natural born outdoor guide, Alexsandra!! She was so genuine and fun with a solid grasp on Slovenia’s history and geography. No way you could find all of the amazing gems she takes you to on your own and fit them all into a day. It’s a busy day, but it flies by when you’re seeing so many beautiful things and you have a lot of relaxation options too. I will be booking with Alexsandra again!

Just returned from another amazing tour. As far as I'm concerned this is the best tour company in Slovenia and Aleksandra is the best guide. We saw fantastic scenery and beautiful lakes rivers and waterfalls. We'll be back next year and book for more tours. Thanks for a fantastic day. Lee

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Altitude Activities and can’t recommend them highly enough. We joined two tours during our trip: a winter hike in the Julian Alps and their winter adventure day, which included ice climbing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing — both days were exceptional from start to finish. Our guides, Matevz and Alex, were brilliant. They were super friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, while also making the whole experience relaxed and genuinely fun. You could tell they really love what they do, and that enthusiasm was infectious. The winter adventure day was particularly well planned and perfectly paced. Each activity was spaced out really nicely, giving us plenty of time at each one to properly experience it rather than feeling rushed. The guides took time to explain techniques, share local knowledge, and give helpful tips so we could get the most out of every activity. I wasn’t a natural at cross-country skiing, but the patience and encouragement from the guide made such a difference. They offered plenty of guidance, took the time to help me improve, and really helped build my confidence — which made the experience far more enjoyable than I expected. Overall, both days felt very safe, well organised, and thoughtfully delivered, with a great balance of challenge, learning, and fun. We would 100% recommend Altitude Activities and will definitely be back to try some of their summer activities next time. An unforgettable experience in the Julian Alps! 🏔️✨

Wonderful experience with amazing views with a great balance of hiking and resting and with plenty of time to take in the views. Our guide Alex was kind and knowledgeable, having answers to any question that was asked. This was the highlight of my trip and highly recommend this tour!

A great day trip. My guide Petra was amazing. She was friendly and gave lots of information about the places we visited. She was super helpful on the day and helped me with other parts of my holiday too. There was lots to see and we had time to do some exploring with snow shoes too.

The tour was truly unforgettable. Each stop was unique and incredibly beautiful, showcasing the best of the alpine region in winter. From lakes to mountains, every location was impressive and well worth the visit. Our guide, Jerry, was excellent — very engaging, informative, and always willing to answer questions. He created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere while keeping the tour running smoothly and on time. His passion for the region really added to the experience. This was my second trip with them, and once again they exceeded my expectations. I would definitely book with them again and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area in winter.

I originally had a different experience booked, but due to weather conditions Altitude Activities contacted me with the suggestion to switch to the Winter Alpine Wonders tour instead. This was incredibly kind and genuinely saved my trip - I was only in the area for a few days for Christmas and their proactive help meant I didn’t miss the chance to get out into the mountains. The tour took place in the stunning Triglav National Park, with pickup by minibus from Bled. Even though I live near the Lake District and have spent plenty of time in the mountains, Triglav still managed to impress me at every turn. The scenery was breath taking, especially under fresh snow. The whole region is a picture perfect wonderland. There was low cloud and it was snowing during the day so sadly I didn't get to see the huge mountains in the distance. That didn't ruin my day though. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated the group dynamic. I’m not the most outgoing person and can get a little nervous around strangers, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was great spending the day with people from all over the world who shared a love for the outdoors and Slovenia’s beauty. I never felt left out. Our guide, Aleksandra, was fantastic. She was friendly, easy to talk to, and shared a huge amount of knowledge about the region, its history, and the landscape. Her cheerful welcoming approach set the tone for the whole day. The walk itself was at a gentle, comfortable pace, with the guide making sure no one felt rushed. This wasn’t a race - everyone had time to enjoy the views, take photos, and soak in the atmosphere. The warm meal halfway through the day was exactly what we needed after a snowy morning. I had a flask of hot tea with me so the regular stops for a drink and to admire the scenery made the long day feel relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re thinking of doing this tour, go prepared: warm and waterproof clothing, proper footwear (my hiking boots were perfect), and something to drink like a bottle of water. You can take a bag to carry or leave in the van. I believe they have suitable walking equipment to hire if required. You'd have to enquire with them if you need to do that as I didn't have the need to use that opportunity. We did have ice spikes to slip onto our boots for the icy sections of the walk where it was needed. It’s a full day out, but absolutely worth it. When I was dropped off in Bled that evening, I felt sad that the trip had come to end. I clearly had a great day in the mountains! Overall, Altitude Activities delivered a fantastic experience, and I’m really grateful for their flexibility and thoughtfulness. This tour was the highlight of my holiday. This was my first visit to Slovenia and it is an amazing country. I hope to visit Slovenia again in the future, and when I do, I'll be checking out another of Altitude Activities experiences. Our guide was super knowledgeable and easy going. The places she showed us were utterly beautiful and we never would’ve been able to get to them without her.

Mother and daughter magical day in beautiful landscape. We booked this hoping for a fresh blanket of snow but the day was perfect even without this. As we were the only booking midweek in December, this turned into a private tour for the two of us. From the very start we were put at ease by our guide who clearly loves her homeland and the natual landscape. Easy discussion flowed for the 8+ hours we were togther and covered a wide range of topics. This tour allowed us to do two small approx 40 mins hikes to impressive waterfalks, we experienced wearing ice spikes to ensure our ease and safety for the first time all with expert guideance. A year ago i had a total knee replacement and have spent 12 months on my rehab and learning how to walk and climb stairs again. There were alot of stairs but I am so proud I managed this day so well always under the kind guideance of our guide. A hearty lunch at the highest altitude of the tour rewarded us with the fresh crunch of snow underfoot. The landscapes we visited were varried, all stunning in their own special ways. I would recommend this tour, as a perfect way to glimpse the immense beauty of this region. Thank you from your Aussie guests 😊
