6-dages Kilimanjaro Marangu-bestigning

Shah Tours were great hosts, from arrival day at our lodge our guide Richard was on-hand to meet and help us prepare, re-assure us and go through our kit check. On day 1 the team was on-time, cheerful, energetic and positive and they never reduced their level. Richard and our second guide Daniel were 5*, professional, knowledgeable and organised but almost more importantly, sympathetic, kind and engaged. We truly felt cared for and supported. The 6 day route is tough but acheivable, there are huge highs and some lows, freezing rain on Day 2 being one of them. Richard or Daniel were always at our side and they also ran a super efficient portering team. In camp we were superbly looked after, over-fed and the daily health-checks just enhanced how our well-beiung was the number one priority. Summit night was tough, Richard never for one moment let us doubt ourselves, he saw us through a period of vomiting, (sorry but it happened), got us where we needed to be in good time and never eased off until we were successfully back in camp. The last day down to the park gate was long but we had fun and chatted on the way as we regained energy and the finish line approached. If you are going to do this epic adventure there is no reason at all in our opinion why Shah and Richard and Daniel should not be high on your list of providers.

I would highly recommend Richard and Daniel as your guides, they were incredible. They were knowledgeable, caring and fun! I went with a colleague and both of us couldn't have asked for more from the experience and the guides. Do choose them as your guides, you won't be disappointed!

Incredible experience safely guided by our two guides Augustin and Innocent. We went up as a couple with them and 6 other porters including cook, luggage carrier and kitchen assistants who where all super friendly, motivated and helpful. We felt well assisted all time and at the same time we could hike independently from time to time the first days, without the guides always next to us, but still felt well guided any time. The guides were knowledgable about vegetations and animals along the route. But More importantly, they always checked in our health every morning and evening taking oxygen and pulse. They answered all our questions and provided us with a detailed briefing for the upcoming days. Though we did not struggle with altidude sickness, we had the feeling they would have taken it seriously and advised wisely on proceeding or not - unlike other guides we widnessed. The work of the porters is also incredible as they carry your extra bag and all food up. The 3-course-menus served were more than enough, delicious and exceeded our expectations.

All the staff were kind and we had a great time climbing. It's a mountain meal, so I can't help it, but I'm sorry I didn't like it.

Recently summited Kili with a fantastic team from Shah Tours led by Hamza and Focus. They were terrific guides not only caring for and guiding myself and my husband to the summit, but they also were great with the team of the chef, waiter, dishwasher, and other porters. As for the company, we coordinated with Shukuru who was exceptional too, so polite, professional and knowledgeable. Everyone together made it a trip to remember.

Myself, and kids (three adults) enjoyed this lifetime experience. It was exciting, somehow tiring, but rewarding. The lovely two guides and many porters made our trip as easy as possible. The cook and assistant prepared just the right meal at the right time. Although we did not complete the hike to Uhuru peak (just 6 km away) due to high altitude sickness two of my children suffered, and we were advised to descend accordingly, we will never forget these days. I am planning to return in the near future. To conclude, I want to say thank you Shah Tours, thank Kalvin, Umari, Emanuel and entire crew for your passion, care and support extended to us throughout this wonderful hike.

If you want to go with Shah tours ask for Calvin. I can't thank Calvin enough for noticing my condition (AMS) and staying with me, carrying my daypack and even my water bottle- for the last 2 hours to the Kibo hut on our way up. Kili hike needs two things. Physical fitness and coping with altitude. I ran into issues with the second part and Calvin noticed it right away. Thanks a million Calvin.

It is hard to describe all the feeling and experience when I reached Uhuru point. Unbelievable, you get a 360 view of the horizon from top, filled with surreal feeling, excitement and accomplishment that you are able to climb this rugged mountain and enjoy the out of world experience of horizon, sun rise and excitement of watching many other groups reaching the point and screaming in ecstasy. For the moment you forget about the last four five days of exhausting hike in tropical forest, baron land with scorching sun and climbing almost 45 degree elevation from Kibo to Gilman filled with volcanic ash and gravel. It is just an amazing experince. During the final climb, our group separated because everyone has their own pace. My brother was a little ahead of me with his guide Calvin and I ended up climbing alone with my guide Ananya. When we descended, we as brothers and a few other friends shared our feeling and agreed that all this amazing experience would not have been possible with a proper guide and a support structure that Shah Tours provided. There were four guides, three cooks and twelve porters for us, a team of nine. It was like an entourage moving along with you for your care, guidance and food and many other logistics you would not anticipate. I was just humbled by the amount of care and guidance they provide. They would make sure to record your oxygen level and heart beat every morning and evening and ask how you are feeling, making sure everyone in the team has good health and spirit. I don’t think I would be ever be able to repay them for their service. Tipping was just a small gesture.

We had an amazing trip to Mount Kilimanjaro. Shah tours did a very good job of explaining the tour and what was needed for the climb. It is a difficult climb and requires complete support of the staff of guides, porters and cooks. The support staff was led by Calvin who is probably the best guide that I have ever met in my life. Calvin was patient, smiling, helpful and provided constant encouragement all through the journey. The guides with me were Calvin and Ananya, and I can safely say that without them it would have been difficult for me to survive for more than two days. I have never met a more patient and helpful person than Ananya. The porters and cooks are warriors. They make it seem effortless while they were carrying our stuff and serving food. The food was hot and made fresh for every meal. It was somewhat bland for the Indian palate but exactly what was needed for the climb. The servers were very flexible and made sure the food was delivered to the rooms if I was too tired to go to the dining hall. I enjoyed all the meals with my friends in the dining halls. Overall, it was a life changing experience for me. What made it super special was the complete care provided by Calvin, Ananya and all the guides and porters. I have no hesitation in saying that Shah Tours and Team will go the extra distance to make sure you have a pleasant journey and stay.

Our African trip was 16 days long. (Safari, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar). Unbelievably, all 16 days were planned absolutely perfectly by Shah Tours. Big thanks to Roheel Shah. First the safari. Safari is an amazing experience. Our guide's name was Mohamed. He was also the driver. Mohamed is a fantastic person. A great professional, but above all a person with a heart of gold. I wish him and his family a wonderful life. He had a great overview of his work. And now, Kilimanjaro. That was the most amazing trip of my life. Again perfectly planned. 2 fantastic guides and 9 hearty porters. Calvin, a great leader and professional. He creates his career absolutely perfectly. He will be the big boss later. Ellisha, second guide. He is a great friend to everyone. I love these people. He doesn't know it, but with his friendly attitude, he helps people a lot to reach the Uhuru climb. Me and my friend Lukáš thank our team (Calvin, Ellisha, masterchef, porters) very much. We remember our masterchef very much (at 6 o'clock in the morning he said: "hello brothers, time to get up, time for breakfast, :)))))) We remember every day the best vacation in our lives.
