Great trip, everything was as described. The accommodation although oldish was clean, comfortable and the staff were lovely. The safaris were amazing, well worth doing multiple as we saw different animals each time. Highly recommend this tour.
The booking process was quick and easy; I got answers to all my questions in under 12 hours. Everything ran like clockwork—the airport shuttle, safari pickups, and activities were all right on time. The guides were friendly and really knew their stuff, and we were lucky enough to spot all the Big Five! The lodge room was spacious and had everything we needed. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious with lots of options. I’d definitely recommend Mzansi Experience!
I have to say that I was traveling alone and contracting with Mzansi Experience a package that included everything (hotel "Kruger Adventure Lodge", airport transportation to the hotel, Kruger Park safaris, Panorama Tour and food) was the best decision I made after so much research and finding out. First of all the hotel (or camp) is very comfortable has heating and air conditioning, refrigerator and everything you need for a wonderful stay. This last one is very important, as it requires heating at night - it is very cold - and during the day it is air - it is hot - and in this hotel everything works wonderfully. It is about 30 minutes or 1 hour from the entrance to the kruger and they organize the excursions with specialized guides, are punctual and breakfast is included. Please ask Michael as a guide, he is the best and with him you will have the opportunity to see many animals, it is amazing. The people at the hotel are friendly and very professional. The experience included the Panorama Tour and it is unmissable, they can not leave the place without that excursion. The hotel food is very good and dinners are included, beds are comfortable. I have to say that for a woman traveling alone I felt safe and cared for at all times. I was never charged for two people, which I found very important because many operators there ask you to pay for 2, which is a scam. The package includes being picked up at the airport roundtrip, it's great. In short, don’t find out more, hire Mzansi and take care of everything, without wasting time. Another super important thing is that they respond to emails instantly (which I don’t do with other operators).
Leon y equipo
Our five-night safari to the Kurula Lodge in the private part of Kruger through Mzansi was excellent, from booking all the way through to our departure. Safaris are an expensive vacation, but for everything we got, Mzansi was very economical. The lodge itself was beautiful, and we had it all to ourselves with a very friendly staff - almost an embarrassment to have a five-person team there entirely for our benefit! The safari drives were very enjoyable. It's a different experience then being in the open savannahs of Kenya and Tanzania, where we visited 15 years ago. At least the private part of Kruger is remarkably intimate, with much thicker vegetation and only a few jeeps out on game drives at the same time, and animal encounters felt much more personal as a result. The quantity of animals was also a little lower, but sheer luck factors into that, and we saw all of the big five other than leopards (and cheetah, which our guide told us are rare in South Africa). Our guide Troy was fantastic - personable, patient, and our kids (14 and 12) enjoyed spending the days with him as much as we did. The five days of game drives were great, but we equally enjoyed the day Troy took us out of the park and into the mountain and areas surrounding the park, which rounded out the experience with natural beauty and variety in the activity. The food was good, prepared by an excellent chef, and we would recommend a stay at Kurula to anyone.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review. We are always excited to receive such awesome feedback! Leon & Team
A very comfortable hotel, and an excellent driver with most of the safaris on our own. Much enjoyed too the Panorama Tour which was unexpectedly beautiful. Splendid dinners and breakfasts, and the pool was beautifully situated.
Thank you for the wonderful review! We are so happy that you had a great time on safari with The Mzansi Experience! Hope to see you back again soon.
I found this company's tour listings on special promotion at Tourradar.com but decided to book internally so they can receive full commission. The site wasn't set up yet for promo code so I was communicating with Leon (owner) over several emails until it was finally fixed. The response rate was fast, but Leon had to troubleshoot the following issues: The confirmation never came through as mentioned, so he had to follow up on team member to send it to me. Once I received, it wasn't clear where I was staying. Just said "Kruger Adventure" and I didn't know that was a name of a lodge. I reported to Leon once I arrived at lodge that my name wasn't on shuttle list (Ashton's company never processed my name, even though Mzansi had submitted it) and he made sure to communicate this to Ashton's to prevent it from happening again and spoke with lodge about it too for follow up. This isn't really a tour where you're guaranteed to have tourmates join you - it depends on when everyone checks in and their itinerary. I was on the sunset safari and full day safari with one other person who was travelling solo, so it felt really private (although the drivers took on additional people from different lodges while we were heading to park - and I reported this to Leon as well) and even if it's just you, they'll still proceed with the itinerary. I was by myself on the Panorama Route excursion. Not sure if they contract other lodges in the Hazyview/Kruger area but Kruger Adventure Lodge offers great rooms (I had my own bungalow for a private room to my surprise!), delicious meals, nice views and friendly staff. They have their own vehicles for the safaris and transfers. I had lots of amazing wildlife moments!
Apologies for my belated response. Thank you for the positive review. I am very happy that you had such a great time with us, despite a few hickups with our transport partners. We have taken your notes into consideration and will definitely focus on improved communication with our clients. Warm regards, Leon
