Beliggende i Chiang Mai-provinsen er Doi Inthanon det højeste bjerg i Thailand, der rejser sig 2.565 meter over havets overflade. Doi Inthanon National Park har masser af fantastiske variationer i sin frodige geografi og skov. Det er hjemsted for regnskov, blandet skov og fyrreskov. Formålet med Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol var at bygge til ære for kong Bhumibol Adulyadejs 50-års fødselsdag i 1987, og Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri bygger til ære for dronning Sirikits 50-års fødselsdag i 1995. Begge steder kan man se den smukke udsigt over Doii uhindret. Very nice experience in the sanctuary. Hiking through the rice fields was also great and ending it with coffee tasing.

Beautiful busy day where we visited several sites with a very friendly guide (Mark) who knows the region and the elephants well. He gives us good information on all the places visited. The hike is on rugged terrain but the rice fields, the waterfall, and the forest are magnificent. The meal is excellent.

A lovely day trip to see the elephants and have a great walk/hike through lovely rice fields. Doi Inthanon was cloudy the day we went, but still was a nice view, and the guide gave our group the option to skip for more time with the elephants if we didn’t want the cloudy vista. The sanctuary felt ethical and the animals seemed well treated and safe, and that made this a highlight of our stay!

The 3-in-1 Doi Inthanon Tour, Elephant Sanctuary, and Trekking Trail was an unforgettable experience and one of the best tours in northern Thailand. It perfectly combines breathtaking nature, wildlife, and local culture into one incredible day. Visiting Doi Inthanon National Park was a highlight, with its cool mountain climate, beautiful waterfalls, lush forests, and stunning panoramic viewpoints. The famous King and Queen Pagodas offered spectacular scenery and were perfect for photos. The elephant sanctuary experience was truly special. It was wonderful to see the elephants being cared for in an ethical environment, and feeding and interacting with them was both fun and memorable. The trekking trail through the forest was peaceful and scenic, taking us through beautiful landscapes, small villages, and rice fields while our guide shared interesting information about the local culture and nature. The tour was very well organized, transportation was comfortable, and the guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the day. Everything ran smoothly, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chiang Mai who wants to experience nature, wildlife, and the beauty of northern Thailand in one amazing day!

A long but ADVENTUROUS day! Well worth it! At the Elephant Sanctuary, you can see the elephants are well taken care of and loved! Living as free as possible after being rescued. Doi Inthanon, so breathtaking being in the clouds. A beautiful tribute to the King and Queen. To end it with the waterfall hike was a perfect ending! Definitely got our steps in and the waterfalls were therapeutic to see and walk along.
