The trek was truly an unforgettable experience and i would definitely recommend this operator to book it with! They organize everything for you making it super easy and uncomplicated. I booked the 3 day trek and saw orang utans many times! The guide really goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your experience. Also the food was amazing!
A magnificent expedition! I was lucky enough to see many orangutans and other monkeys. The days flew by with the very friendly guides; they were truly there for us. The accommodation and food were all excellent. I highly recommend it!

I had a fantastic experience trekking in Bukit lawang. A beautiful town, with amazing wildlife and even better people. Our guides Brema and Robert were knowledgeable, hilarious, and made the experience super memorable. Thank you guys. Also, the food on the trek was incredible, big thanks to the cooking team! The jungle there is such a gorgeous and hospitable environment and I hope it remains conserved for years to come.

We had an amazing time with the Sumatra Orangutan Trekking. They took such good care of us all throughout our stay - our driver Ogie picked us up from the airport in Medan and drove us safely to Bukit Lawang. He also got us some delicious local snacks for the drive. We started our three day jungle trek tour the following day with our guides, Nasir and Memet. They were the best - they gave clear instructions for the trek to make sure we were prepared and really made sure we saw as many Orangutans as possible. We also saw different types of wildlife - snakes, monkeys, gibbons, birds, etc. They were very knowledgeable and you could see they loved the jungle and treated the animals with respect. They also made sure we were as comfortable as possible all throughout the trek. It was my birthday but we didn't really tell them until the day itself and they even gave me a small birthday surprise. The food was also really great throughout the tour - we had a wonderful cook, Indra, who made sure we could enjoy delicious Sumatran food for dinner. The team also took care of us after we finished our jungle trek, making sure we made it back to Medan safely and even including a short tour in Medan and a nice relaxing massage! All in all, we would highly recommend this company, and if possible, try to get Nasir and Memet as your guides! We really enjoyed our time with them. One thing to note - this is a jungle trek so accommodations are basic, but safe. Bring lots of mosquito repellent and be aware that some parts of the trail can be quite steep and difficult. The treks in themselves were not that long, since there were plenty of breaks in between, but some parts can be technical and require care when going down.

I had the most wonderful experience trekking with this group. Our guides Memet and Nasir catered the whole experience to the group making it one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. The type of trekking was very varied from climbing to river rafting giving us the full jungle experience! Not to mention our excellent chef Indra who ensured we never went hungry with the most beautiful local Cusine. I’d give 10 stars if possible, would recommend!

What an incredible experience! We joined the 3 Days / 2 Nights Sumatra Orangutan Trekking tour and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better adventure. From the moment we booked about a month in advance, everything was perfectly organized. Communication via WhatsApp was always quick and easy, our accommodation was arranged for us, and the airport pickup went completely smoothly. We chose a private tour and were accompanied by two amazing guides and a fantastic cook. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. Throughout the trek, they constantly checked if we were doing okay, needed a break, or needed anything at all. We felt very well taken care of from start to finish. We were also incredibly lucky with the wildlife. We saw so many orangutans during the trek, along with several different monkeys and beautiful birds. One of the most special parts was that three orangutans regularly visited the area around our campsite, which made the whole experience even more magical. And the food exceeded all expectations! Every meal was freshly prepared, absolutely delicious, and different from the one before. We had such a great variety of dishes and were genuinely surprised by the quality and amount of food available in the middle of the jungle. To top it all off, the tubing ride back to the village was so much fun and the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia. The entire team was incredibly kind, professional, and passionate about what they do. We made memories that will stay with us forever and would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sumatra. The most magical experience of our lives! Our guides Nasir and Ragil went above and beyond to ensure our experience was the best as well as teaching us so much about the jungle and wildlife. To see the Orangutan roaming freely in their natural habitat is a truly unforgettable experience. We enjoyed beautiful fruit platters and lunch during our trek, and we were welcomed back to camp with tea and biscuits each day with an amazing selection of local dishes for dinner later in the evening. I would 100% recommend booking with Sumatra Orangutan Trekking to anyone.

Me and my partner did a 3 day jungle tour and honestly one of the best 3 days of my life. Saw more than enough wildlife and was very happy with the whole experience. The office are very helpful and cater any specific needs all at a very good price. Our guides Nasir and Ragil taught us so much about the ecosystem and constantly having a laugh with us so never a dull moment. They provide more than enough food and make sure that you have comfortable nights in the jungle. These boys don’t get enough credit. Would 100% recommend to anyone interested and definitely book with Sumatra Orangutan Trekking.

My trek with my guide Waka was absolutely amazing!! We saw 11 different orangutans, lots of Thomas Leap monkeys, black gibbons and toucans among other things! Waka was full of great information and was an extremely generous and knowledgable host, always ensuring my safety. Thank you for a great trip!
