Legenden siger, at en rig lokal familie blev begravet under disse enorme sandhøje, som en straf for at nægte gæstfrihed til en fattig kvinde og hendes søn. Disse klitter stiger majestætisk over de to byer Merzouga, og viser en fantastisk roseguldfarve, der skinner i sollyset. I løbet af den sene eftermiddag, da det varme lys kærtegner sandene, gennemgår duerne en magisk forvandling, skifter fra rose guld til levende toner af orange, pink og lilla. This 3-day Sahara trip from Marrakech to Merzouga was just fantastic! Start to finish, everything was elegantly planned, safe, and genuinely scenic. The High Atlas Mountain ride and stops at Ait Ben Haddou and Dades Valley added so much cultural depth to the experience. The highlight of the trip, of course, was the camel trek into the Merzouga dunes. Looking out over the sunset across the Sahara, and camping overnight in a beautiful desert camp under the stars — simply unforgettable. Spotless camp, beautiful food, and the music around were enough to create an idyllic, peaceful atmosphere. Our driver/guide was kind, funny, and shared so much about Moroccan culture and traditions. This tour gave us memories we’ll cherish forever — highly recommended for anyone visiting Morocco!
