We experienced our first safari as if in a dream. An experienced, efficient, and friendly team. A guide who took the time to explain the park and nature to us and did his best to show us the big 4. A very comfortable camp ideally located in the middle of the park. 100% recommendable.
Absolutely amazing experience and the highlight of our trip to Africa! Our tour guide Nelson was phenomenal. Saw so much wildlife. He was very respectful of the animals and Park. Accommodations were great (it is camping) but very comfortable. A shout out to Chef P for his good food, and being especially accommodating to my daughter with celiac disease - always had gluten-free food just for her that was delicious! Two of us had done a day trip in Chobe a few years ago. If you have the opportunity to do a three day Safari, you will see so much more than just the day trip, enjoying sunrises, sunsets, and a plethora of animals.
My boyfriend and I booked the 3-day 2-night safari experience with Kalahari Tours, and it was completely epic. On our trip, every day was a good one for seeing animals. We saw lions, giraffes, elephants (so many), hippos (lots), zebras, baboons, monkeys, lizards, crocs, and too many crazy birds to list by name. We also managed to glimpse an elusive leopard which was pretty special. Our guide, OP, was a total rockstar. His immense knowledge of the Chobe area and the animal behaviour within was evident. If I come back to Botswana, I will definitely request OP. Our campsite managers, Jakob and MP, were also total rockstars. When we arrived back after each drive, the campsite was set up with comforts and culinary delights. For me, sleeping amongst the animals every night was the cherry on cake. I will never forget hearing the hyenas call under the Botswana stars.
Thank you Lizzie for the awesome review. Camping out in the bush is not everyone's cup of tea, but as you say the thrill of hearing wild animals out in the bush from your tent or around the camfire . Op is a star as you say and so to are MP and Jacob , valued members of our team! we will be sure to pass on your commendations to them.
From start to finish, this camping trip was such a special experience! Our guide, Chika had incredible knowledge of the wildlife and area. You could tell how much he loves what he does! He made every moment exciting, interesting and memorable for us. Pontsho, our camp chef, not only made delicious meals every day (we already miss his fresh baked bread!), but also brought such a warm and positive energy to camp that made every meal and evening feel even more enjoyable. Amos, as camp manager, made our stay feel incredibly comfortable, organised and relaxed. An extra thank you to Terry for adding to the magic of our trip, you are already well on your way to becoming a fantastic and knowledgeable guide! The whole team made us feel so welcomed and taken care of throughout the trip and we are so grateful we got to experience Chobe this way. The memories, people and atmosphere made it something we’ll never forget.
Thanks Meander for the awesome review , we are so thrilled you enjoyed your Tour and the effort from the camping guys and of course Chikas guiding. Terry is very keen and we are sure he will go a long way ! please do come again !
This experience was one of the best things I have ever done. 3 days exploring chobe while camping amongst it all was truely incredible. Recommend to everyone wanting a fully immersive experience. There was an abundance of animals. The team was so friendly and helpful with our last minute booking. Our guide Nelson was amazing and so kind. He was so knowledgeable about safety, the area and all of the animals. He made sure we all had the best time. The food was so delicious and varied. 10/10 recommend this experience. Thank you Kalahari for an experience I will never forget.
Thank you romualds for the wonderful review. Much appreciated. We are so thrilled you enjoyed your safari with us so much and the food, and of course Nelson's guiding . A good guide is vital to the overall experience guests have, and we will be sure to commend him on a job well done. Many thanks do come again!
Great tour. Caleb was our guide and pick-up person at Chobe Inn. Super punctual! During the tour in the national park, he answered all questions competently and explained a lot about the habits and peculiarities of the animals. He took great care of us photographers and patiently endured my bird obsession, ensuring that I could take great pictures. Thank you, Caleb, at this point. The camp was functional, and the kitchen for the circumstances (cooking over an open fire) was fantastic. The rolls exceeded even German expectations for bread. Overall, highly recommended.
Dear Tiffys, thank you for the fantastic review, much appreciated! We are so happy you enjoyed the bread baked in the bush and will be sure to pass your commendations to Calib. Please come again and spread the word in Germany !
We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to Botswana border, where arranged pick up by Leo our guide for next 3 days. A delightful guide who looked after us very well. He understood light for photographers and due to him we have amazing photos of a pride of lions killing buffalo in daytime. Trip started with river cruise. We slept in tents on swags much more comfortable than I expected. Tents were mosquito proof although we didn't see any. The camp chef, Pontso and his assistant Amos cooked great meals over open fire. Including bread freshly baked on camp oven. Leo always willing to stop with photographers wanting just one more photo. The first day there was 3 of us then 2 on a private tour. In photo of tents you can see showrt tent Pontso made sure we had warm showers. We were at camp 9 furthest in park and saw cheetah first thing on 2 mornings. Followed the pride making short work of buffalo kill. 🦒 🐘 in huge numbers with many other animals and crossed off many beautiful birds from list. Thank you Leo we would ❤️ to come back one day.
Thank you, Carolyn for the fantastic review we are so Happy the Team looked after you well and it seems you enjoyed every minute of it . That's so lucky seeing Cheetah, they are normally very scarce when there are Lions around so to see them twice is incredibly lucky! We will be sure to pass on your commendations to Leo and the camping guys. Thanks again !
G as the guide was very knowledgeable (we have a lot of experience), he listened to what we wanted like not driving fast to chase game sightings and understanding what we were interested in. The camping location in the park was great and we started and ended with a boat tour. Logistics flawless: border, their transit location food and timing, etc. Food at the camp was great and fresh and drinks were plenty and custom to what we wanted. Only improvement opportunity is early morning preparedness: a 6am drive means coffee and cold food should be available at 530 with no cooked breakfast needed so you leave on time. Overall highly recommend…perfect amount of time on park.
Thank you, Patti for the fantastic review. We are thrilled you enjoyed it as a seasoned safari goer. G is a great guide, and we are happy you enjoyed his services. Your timing concerns are noted to speed things up and be out of camp before sunrise is vital, I agree. Thanks again and do come again !
Wow, this was incredible. My husband and I are not campers but we are so glad we picked the three days, two nights camping experience. It was amazing sleeping inside the park. The first night we heard an elephant before heading to bed and then a pride of lions walked past the camp in the early hours of the morning. We saw heaps of amazing wildlife, many close up moments. We were spoilt with having the talented tour guide Mr T for our whole experience, whose wealth of knowledge and clever tracking skills made the safari. The food was also great and as a coeliac, I was also catered for. They had good knowledge of cross contamination and there were substitutions during lunches and dinners so I didn’t miss out. We are sad it’s over!!
Thank you, Jessica. We're delighted you were looked after with your dietary needs met, and Mr T is a star as always .Do come again !
I wasn't sure about camping in Botswana. But this experience was great. The campsite was just fine and the food was great considering we were in the middle of nowhere. Pit toilet was a first. We had several safari tours during the 3 days and saw many impalas, baboons, elephants, giraffes, and lions. Truly a memorable experience. Also had the chance to cruise on the Chobe River and saw many birds and crocodiles. Our guide, Moses, did a great job of noticing animals in the distance and then stopping for pictures. We were able to get up close and personal with elephants and lions. Remember to bring a hat and plenty of bug spray.
Thanks TomC for the great review of our product much appreciated !
