Really impressed with this tour. I had flight issues coming into Puerto Maldonado and Rose adjusted everything, was reassuring and accommodating. I had a brilliant time out there. Made the most of it and would definitely book again through them.
The food was wonderful - local food. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful. We took a trip out to “Monkey Island,” which is apparently home to 6 monkeys. The trek was interesting, but we saw one out of the 6 supposedly available monkeys. Information about what we needed to have with us was incomplete, and we were pretty much told we needed to leave most of our packed things behind as the boat couldn’t accommodate them. Consequently we didn’t have the appropriate things with us in order to participate in a couple of the activities. Don’t try to squeeze this in as a quick trip. Our plane was late, so we missed the morning activity. The tour operator did rearrange things as best she could to accommodate this, which we appreciated. But you need to build in plenty of time before and after your trip out to the resort. Be prepared with portable chargers as there is electricity for only 4 hours a day, since they are powered by solar stored electricity. We were fine since we did come with that.
Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback about your experience with **Paradise Tambopata Lodge** and your **2 Day Tambopata Jungle Express Tour** 🌿 We are very happy to know that you enjoyed the local food and that our guide was knowledgeable and helpful throughout your stay. We also appreciate your understanding regarding the itinerary adjustments after your flight delay — our team always does its best to adapt activities whenever possible so our guests can still enjoy the Amazon experience. At the same time, we truly value your constructive comments. We are sorry that the information about luggage and necessary items for the tour was not sufficiently clear before your arrival. Your feedback is very important and will help us improve our pre-tour communication so future travelers can prepare more comfortably for the activities and boat transfer. Regarding Monkey Island, wildlife sightings in the Amazon can vary from day to day because the animals move freely in their natural habitat. Even so, we are glad you still enjoyed the excursion and jungle experience. Thank you as well for mentioning the solar-powered electricity schedule and the recommendation about portable chargers — this information is very helpful for future travelers visiting remote rainforest areas. We sincerely appreciate your visit and your honest review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future for a longer Amazon adventure 🌴✨
- great activities in a small group - well maintained, beautiful lodge, even with pool - highly professional and knowledgeable, helpful and friendly tour guide - clear communication before and during the tour - good, regional food - punctual, reliable and comfortable transport
Good morning, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour, the activities, and your stay at our lodge. Our team works hard every day to provide an authentic, well-organized Amazon experience — your kind words mean a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back someday for more adventures in the jungle! Warm regards, Chantal Paradise Amazon Lodge
Pros: We saw a variety of wildlife, spiders, birds, caimans etc Lovely guide Santo Great meals Fit a lot into the itinerary Cons: Says it's a private tour but it's not, we spent the majority of the time with two other groups, up to about 15 people. Wish I saved the money and went for a group one No WiFi at the lodge or reception Power for only 3 hours a night, about 6:30-9:30 Our guides English was hard to understand at some points, but really nice man
Dear Emily, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re very glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience overall — especially the wildlife sightings, the delicious meals, and the guidance of Santo, who will be happy to know you appreciated his efforts! We’re sorry to hear about the confusion regarding the tour type. Some activities, such as boat transfers and certain excursions, are occasionally shared with small groups to minimize environmental impact within the Reserve — but we understand how this might have differed from your expectations. As for the Wi-Fi and limited electricity, this is part of the lodge’s eco-friendly setup — designed to preserve the natural surroundings and offer guests a genuine rainforest experience. Still, we truly appreciate your comments, and we’ll continue improving our communication to make these details even clearer before arrival. Thank you again for visiting Tambopata with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future! Warm regards, Chantal
It was great but didn’t exactly follow the itinerary we signed up for. I suspect because the tour started late and something had to go. (We missed the parrots). Lake Sandavol and following night walk was exceptional, river otters to tarantulas. Guides were terrific and food was ok but nothing spectacular.
Dear Carol, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience overall — especially the visit to Lake Sandoval and the night walk, where you got to see such amazing wildlife! We’re sorry, however, that the itinerary didn’t fully match what you expected and that you missed the parrot activity. Occasionally, delays or weather conditions can require small adjustments to ensure safety and the best experience possible, but we understand your disappointment and will review our scheduling to improve future coordination. We truly appreciate your kind words about our guides and are glad you found them terrific. Thank you again for your constructive feedback — it helps us keep getting better. Warm regards, Chantal Paradise Amazon Lodge
Our family had a great experience on this 2-day tour. We did a canopy walk, fished for piranhas, kayaked, and saw lots of animals. The lodge we stayed in was great. We really appreciated that our dietary restrictions (2 celiac and 2 vegetarians in our family) were considered and the food was great. Our guide, Miguel was fantastic! I would recommend this tour for sure.
Thank you for your stay with us in our lodge. We are glad that you had a wonderful time and experience. Thank you for your review. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Regards, Paradise
We had a great time. Willian was a great tour guide. If you are going to Peru you need to do this excursion would do it again. Hotel was very clean and the food was good.
