HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We are a mother and daughter from USA who had never been to Peru before and found Discover Pachamama Tours online. We had just a fantastic experience on our 2-day “Short Inka Trail” hike, led by Marisole of Discover Pachamama tours! Marisole is an experienced mountain guide in Peru and very knowledgeable about the Inka trail system, history, geology, and biology of the area. This historic rock trail is very steep at times, with unique and incredible views of Machu Picchu and the surrounding area. By doing this tour, we entered the ancient citadel through the magical Sun Gate and into Circuit #1. Marisole was organized, patient, kind, and encouraging, which made for a rewarding and fantastic experience. The included lunch and dinner was delicious. We also enjoyed the stop at a women’s weaving collectivo where we learned about alpaca yarn, natural dyes, and economic traditions led by Peruvian women for centuries - and stocked up on quality handmade items for family gifts. Jose was super responsive when I initially contacted him and he arranged this tour for us - it could not have been more perfect. It was obvious that both Jose and Marisole are very well connected in the tour community there. We had so much fun on the 2-day Inka Trail hike that we booked a subsequent Cuzco City tour with Discover Pachamama! BTW- There are a LOT of tour operators working in Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu but many are really NOT especially qualified to handle backcountry issues that can arise (altitude, temperature swings, trail injuries). We were in very capable hands with Discover Pachamama!

Inca trail 2 days
Marizol was such a great company! She is patient, Kind, and she goes with the traveler’s Flow. We did the 2 days Inca Trail, which was a 7h walk to the Macchu Pichu (it is quite intense to climb up there!) and Marizol was adapting her rythm to ours without ever stressing us. Plus, she knows a lot of things and she takes the time to stop and explain really interesting facts. The day after, we went on the Macchu Pichu site and Marizol took us around all of it. Once again, it was very interesting and not too long or not too short. I would definitely recommend choosing her as a guide!!

One of a kind experience
What a fantastic experience I had while 2-day Inca trail! Our tour guide Marizol was truly one of the best guides of my life. It was both educational, fun and inspiring! Everything starting from the initial conversation to the very last drop-off was perfectly organized. Jose and Marizol proposed additional tips to make the trip even more enjoyable! Marizol from Discover Pacha Mama was our guide for our 2 day 1 night Inca Trail trek and was fantastic. She is extremely knowledgeable about all the Inca sites we were able to visit. Amazing trip
Discover Pachamama and specifically Jose our personal guide, delivered an absolutely fantastic trip. Jose’s knowledge of Inca history and experience provided the best possible experience for us. His attention to detail and thoughtfulness was a blessing. We did the two day Inca Trail and the logistics from transfers, train rides, hotel, food and communication went flawlessly. Along the trail and stay in Aguas Caliente, trail guides, porters, hotel and restaurant staff always stopped and said a quick “hello”. Our 2 day hike to Machu Picchu.
The views were breathtaking and our guide Marisol was exceptional, not only is she thorough with history but also a very caring person. We were not in the greatest shape but she patiently encouraged us to reach our destination. I would highly recommend Marisol as a guide if you ever want to do the Machu Picchu hike.

Amazing Experience - Pachamama!
The whole journey was amazing! Taking the short Inca Trail in the first day was trully magical! It would not be the same to only visit the site as we did during our second day. Jose explained everything about his ancestors and the beauty involved in the Inca history. It is amazing to understand the true meaning of Pachamama. I come back to Brazil with a lot of extra culture and a new Hermano! Thanks Jose and Discovery Pachamama!

Great experience on the Inca trail
So I was participating in the two-day Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Jose is a super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide. I can fully recommend joining his tours. He knows how to wrap history into inspiring and interesting stories and takes care of his group really well. Super thumbs up 👍
