Galveston har set et rædselsfuldt antal pludselige dødsfald. Et ugudeligt antal af øens dyrt forlod, ja, aldrig rejst. Deres ånd lurer i skyggerne, gyderne, trapperne og forfølger Stranden hver dag! De historiske bygninger fra det 19. århundrede på Stranden er blevet spøgelsesreservater, og spøgelserne indeni længes bare efter at møde dig. Tag med os på vores 90-minutters vandretur, mens vi udforsker de fascinerende paranormale hændelser på stranden, den originale rædselsgade. Orkaner, krig, brand og epidemier! Piraten Jean Lafitte forvandlede endda øen til en hule af tyve. Galveston har flere spøgelser end nogen anden by i USA Når man går om natten, vil gennemskinnelige figurer svæve ved vinduerne. Skygger vil pludselig dukke op, og genstande bevæger sig af sig selv, når vi klemmer os tættere på hinanden, for er gensidig beskyttelse. Vi ved aldrig, hvad der venter os rundt om hjørnerne. Pas på og vær bange! Når alt kommer til alt, er Galveston intet andet end "en kirkegård med en strand tilknyttet."

På sit højeste oplevede denne jernbanestation over 40.000 mennesker om dagen på vej til Galvestons barer, kasinoer og bordeller. En ingeniør ved navn William Watson ville underholde de forbipasserende folkemængder ved at gøre håndstand på motorernes kvægvagt. En uheldig dag gled han og blev straks halshugget. En derbyhat sad stadig sikkert på hovedet, de fandt en kilometer væk!
Så mange dignitærer, soldater, politikere og endda præsidenter har tjekket ind ... men nogle tjekkede aldrig ud. Der høres grædende hulken på trappeopgangene og i gangene. En borgerkrigssoldat marcherer op og ned i lobbyen, så alle kan se. En lille dreng leger på hotellet, der rygtes at være spøgelset af et barn, der er kørt over foran hotellet. Et hjælpsomt spøgelse vil endda pakke ud for dig!
Charles F. Coghlan, en berømt britisk skuespiller, sejlede til Galveston for at pryde scenen i The Grand Opera House. Men den stakkels Charles døde, før gardinet nogensinde blev løftet. Hvad skal man gøre med denne fornemme besøgendes krop? Mens man ventede på svaret, ødelagde Den Store Storm øen og bar Charles' kiste ud på havet. Det flød fra Galveston til Prince Albert Sound, før det endelig nåede land ... omkring en kilometer fra det sted, hvor Charles planlagde at gå på pension.

Went on the tour last night with my family and a random couple who happened to book at the same time! Thomas, our guide, was HILARIOUS, and he did a great job including everyone as he told the story and cracked some jokes along the way. He’s very knowledgeable about the history, great with imagery and storytelling, and open to comfort accommodations (some stops, we were given opportunities to sit down). I was honestly sad when the tour ended, because I felt like our group (yes, my family, thomas, AND the strangers!) had all bonded with a story between us. I wouldn’t have any other guide for this tour, and I’d LOVE to come again.

Thomas was amazing! So fun! Would recommend. The burial at sea was definitely considered as “salt to the wound” I great activity for a night out in Galveston.
