We really enjoyed interacting with the dogs. Didn’t get the full experience with the sled because there wasn’t enough snow on the ground, but I’m not complaining. We still got to see the dogs run. The dogs are amazing! You can tell they really wanted to work because they all got so excited. I definitely recommend this activity.
One thing you must know is it was an honor to meet Laura’s team! The immersive experience was one of a kind. Being able to be up close to those dogs and feel the bond she had with them was very cool. Also I should note, Laura explained the information and life style so well I really understood her love for it!! Definitely consider this experience and it was money well spent.
My daughter wanted to have a sled dog experience while we were in Fairbanks. I honestly was not too sure what to expect with this tour. What an amazing experience! The dogs were fantastic and so much fun. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and so friendly. We had an amazing time. I would recommend it to anyone!
We got to pet all of the dogs. The dogs were super friendly and Laura was awesome.! She taught us all about being a musher and what it takes to raise the dogs and race them. It was an incredible experience.
We're so glad you enjoyed meeting Laura's dogs (and Laura of course too)! Thanks for joining us!
Jen was a great guide and very knowledgeable. We learned so much about the dogs and sled pulling. Enjoyed meeting the dogs and learning about how they team to pull for re recreation or a race.
We love Jen and her dog team! We're thrilled you had a great time. Thanks for joining us!
We did a reindeer walk and enjoyed feeding and walking the reindeer. It was a perfect picture for a Christmas card too! Kerstin was a wonderful guide! Very cool experience. Then we did a 30 minute dog sledding trip and enjoyed that as well. The dogs wee sweet and fun to interact with, and we had fun on the dog sled with our mushers Laura and Kailyn
We had a great time dog sledding. The frozen river was really cool and Laura was a great guide. All the dogs were super excited to be there and all of them were so sweet! I highly recommend the tour.
We had researched dogsledding prior to our Alaskan visit and the Chena Outdoor Collective seemed to have the most extensive tour. It did not disappoint. Our guides Ryne and Jeff were super informative, kind and hospitable. We got to meet the dogs, harness them and then go for a ride of a lifetime. Unlike other places, our ride was 45 min long! Stopped for cool pictures as well. The dogs were so friendly and ready to work and play. You can tell they are well loved and cared for by their respective kennel teams. Virginia was our guide for the private reindeer walk. First, we learned a lot about reindeer and then had fun feeding them and walking these beautiful animals in the forest. Everyone we encountered at the Collective were fantastic and the cafe next door was a great place to eat and warm up after. Highly recommend!
This was one of the very best parts of our visit to Fairbanks. Our guide is SO knowledgeable about her dogs. And she taught us a lot about how the dogs train, how their personalities make a team work, and even how to get them into their harnesses. The ride itself was do much fun! Just a really great experience.
