Cykling på Angkor Wat er unikt, fordi det giver mulighed for en mere intim, miljøvenlig og fleksibel måde at udforske tempelkomplekset, der tilbyder en tættere forbindelse til natur og historie, mens man undgår folkemængder gennem dedikerede, sikre cykelstier. Startpunkt: Afgang fra hotellet Vi tager afsted fra dit hotel kl. 7:30. Denne cykeltur er afslappet, og vi vil have det sjovt sammen. Du vil se det virkelige liv for mennesker, der bor i dette landområde, og du kan også se junglen, dyr og fugle.
PRASAT ANGKOR WAT er det største og mest berømte Khmer-tempel, bygget i det 12. århundrede, mellem 1113 -1150, under Suryavarman II's regeringstid. Templet står 65 meter højt og er omgivet af en stor voldgrav [Ko Tek]. De udvendige og indvendige vægge er beklædt med fantastiske bundrelieffer.
PRASAT BAYON eller ANGKOR THOM er et tempel i buddhistisk stil bygget i slutningen af det 12./begyndelsen af det 13. århundrede af Jayavarnam VII. Bayon har 54 tårne, der repræsenterer de 54 provinser før og under Khmer-imperiet. Der er over 200 smilende ansigter skåret på de 54 tårne. Bayon var en blomstrende hovedstad, men blev desværre beskadiget i 1811 af Cham-angribere.
Chau Say Tevoda er et tempel i Angkor, Cambodja. Det er lige øst for Angkor Thom, direkte syd for Thommanon på tværs af Victory Way. Bygget i midten af det 12. århundrede, er det et hinduistisk tempel i Angkor Wat-perioden. Det er dedikeret til Shiva og Vishnu med unikke typer af kvindelige skulpturer af devataer nedfældet i det.
PRASAT TA PROMH, bygget i slutningen af det 12. århundrede af Jayavarman VII, blev i 1186 dedikeret til hans mor. Oprindeligt havde dette tempel en buddhistisk baggrund, men blev senere omdannet til hindu, så nogle buddhistiske gallerier blev ødelagt og erstattet af hinduistiske symboler som Yoni og Lingam. Ta Nei er et sten tempel fra det 12. århundrede i Angkor, Cambodja. Bygget under kong Jayavarman VIIs styre, er det tæt på det nordvestlige hjørne af East Baray, en stor hellig reservoir. Den var dedikeret til Buddha.
East (Death) Gate er en af de fem porte, der beskytter den gamle by Angkor Thom. Det blev bygget af kong Jayavarman VII i slutningen af det 12. århundrede som en del af genopbygningen af byen, efter sejren over Cham fjendens hær i 1181 AD. Selv om forskere er uenige om symbolikken af de storslåede fem porte, der beskytter byen, er den mest udbredte teori, at guderne og dæmonerne, der holder nagaens krop, repræsenterer myten om skabelsen, som vist i "Churning of the Ocean Milk", den berømte relief på Angkor Wat.

I highly recommend this experience!! Riding bikes around Angkor Wat with Mr. K was really informative and lots of fun. The trails were easy and made for a much more immersive experience than if we were riding in a van. Mr. K tailored the trip to our needs and we spent the time we wanted at each temple. He took us to a nice spot for lunch and we ended the day with a wonderful cold beverage. This cycle tour was a highlight of our trip!!

My partner and I were really glad to have stretched our legs a bit on a biking tour - - it helped to break up the day of walking through temples and get us to some of the spots we might not have made it to otherwise. Mr K was on-time and had bikes ready and waiting for us - it was an easy way to get a special touch on top of an already spectacular place to explore. My husband and I had the most wonderful cycling tour of some of the smaller more unknown temples in the Angkor Wat complex. We felt very safe with good helmets and were led by our great guide ‘K’. We cycled through well paved trails through a jungle environment in lovely heat. If we needed to rest we could and the short sections on the road were not difficult. We were able to access some beautiful smaller temples that we would not have seen otherwise. A truly unique way to travel around the beauty of Angkor Wat. I would highly recommend this tour.
