Den smukke natur af Stone Forest Scenic Area blev opført som en af UNESCOs verdensarvsteder i 2007. Denne attraktion har et stort ry, både i Kina og i udlandet. Yunnan Stone Forest Park, omkring 90 km øst for Kunming, er et meget populært turist hotspot. På grund af parkens enorme størrelse er det alligevel muligt at finde mindre besøgte og afsidesliggende områder, især i de solrige vintermåneder. Find din egen vej gennem labyrinten af enorme sten søjler!Efterfølgende besøger du Jiuxiang Scenic Region, som ligger i Jiuxiang Yi og Hui Autonomous Township i Yiliang County, 45 minutters kørsel fra Stenskogen. Det er berømt for sine karst huler (ca. 100 i alt, hvoraf mere end 60 er udforsket), bjerge, floder, dybe dale samt mindretals vaner og kulturer. Denne tur omfatter en hel del trapper. Af hensyn til sikkerhed og komfort er det muligvis ikke egnet til småbørn eller ældre rejsende.

1,5 timers kørsel til en af Yunnan største vidundere, Stone Forest i Shilin County. Vejret og tiden har skulptureret en massiv karstlabyrint, der føles som om du går gennem en skov, med gamle stentræer, der ser ned på dig. Hver rockformation, du passerer, har sin egen rørende historie eller spændende legende, der er videregivet af de indfødte, der har boet i dette område i årevis. Indfødte tilhører Sani mindretal, en gren af Yi etnisk mindretal, som du stadig kan finde inde i parken, jamming sammen sang folk sange eller lave broderi.
Senere vil vi se et andet kunstværk lavet af naturen, Jiuxiang Caves, en del af det største hulegruppesystem i Kina, med floder, kløfter, vandfald, skove, naturstenbroer og alt, hvad du forestiller dig, du ville finde i et eventyrland. Gå ind i hulerne gennem den smalle grønne canyon og se indgangen til hulerne skjult inde i skovene ovenfra, mens du flyver over det i kabelbanen.Chaufføren bringer dig tilbage til Kunming centrum efterfølgende (ca. 1,5 timer) og dropper dig igen på dit hotel.

We went on a one day tour from Kunming to see the stone forest and the caves, incredible sights to see. I can highly recommend it. I contacted Katherine a couple of weeks before to ask if she could organise a driver for us for the day. We started on email first and switched to we chat. She was super helpful and so professional. Always very quick to respond and very accomodating. Thumbs up!! I can highly recommend her if you would like to book anything in Yunnan. Everything was detailed beforehand. Pick up from hotel etc. You can plan individually. We had a driver called Hao. He was very very friendly and helpful telling us exactly how to get the tickets. You can decide how long you want to stay at each place. Probably better to allow quite a bit of time for the stone forest as the area is huge.

Wonders of Yunnan was truly amazing! Throughout the entire journey, my guide was very professional and talkative, and even shared the story of Ashima during the visit to the Stone Forest. The car was also very comfortable, making it a highly enjoyable travel experience.

The natural wonders were incredible but our guide was really supportive of our enjoyment, taking us through quite areas where we could appreciate the stones without the noise and hub bub of the mass of photographers. Authentic place for lunch serving plentiful amounts of tasty local food. Was a great day out

Well organized. Our guide, Sarah, was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Both the Stone Forest and Jiuxiang Caves are a must see when in Kunming.
